Give me your opinion!!

Alright, so I've resorted to asking on here to get some advice. 
I have a local neighborhood pond that I've been fishing recently. There don't seem to be very many fish however my friend caught a 5lb and I caught a 2.8, so there are certainly some large ones in it. 

I caught mine on a black spinner, he caught his on a white/chartreuse chatter bait. This was a couple weeks ago. We've gone back 3 times since and have come up empty handed each time. 

 

I can't seem to find them, and I have no clue what they would be feeding on. The pond is very shallow, by my estimation 60% of it is 3", and not sure about the rest. not very deep though. I haven't seen any other life activity other than some turtles so I really don't know what types of lures I should be throwing. I've tried senkos, shaky heads swim jigs, rooster tails, chatter baits, spinner baits. The pond is pretty weedy so I can't really throw any crankbaits without catching weeds every cast. 

Any advice how I show find them, and what I should be throwing?

Are you able to see many fish from shore at all?  Any bluegills or bass along the shore?

Haven't seen anything at all.

It's possible there's so much cover it's hard to find them or there just aren't that many fish.  There may be just a few large bass and some bait fish.

I suppose it's possible. Hopefully that's not the case!

Also, have you tried numerous types of lure from numerous locations.  Sometimes you've got to throw it all at them and in different colors.  If that doesn't work try live bait.

What you've described is a common event on ponds.

That is, excellent fishing quickly declining to average or below average fishing.

Rest assured, you didn't fish out that pond, but every time you walk the bank

and work your lure you give the bass in that pond an education.

 

For now, you might want to give the spinners and chatterbaits a rest,

and try something different like a plastic worm or jig & craw.

Since you are limited in access to shoreline fishing, what you need to do is to put the odds in your favor. Get a map of the lake, preferably one that shows the contour depths. Target any points to start with, that go out toward or connect with, the deepest areas of the lake. Then on that point, look for any irregularities in the structure, such as cuts, inlets, or a bend in one direction or another.

 

If you have to deal with weeds, try fishing a frog over them and again, target any cuts or inlets that are different than the main mass of weeds. There are many, many variables. Just start somewhere and try various presentations, starting from the surface, to mid-depths, and then the bottom. Only you can dissect the lake you are fishing. And keep in mind the two most import controls you have for success - depth & speed control. You'll do just fine.
