If you're a long-time member here, then you'll recognize a familiar logo on the right column of the forums. Okuma is back again, supporting BassResource and partnering with us to help you become a better angler. Makers of quality rod and reels at affordable prices, Okuma Fishing helps you focus on the fish, and not the equipment.

From Okuma:

Through rod and reel we find our connection.  Some call it sport.  We call it a way of life that’s rich with expectations. At Okuma Fishing Tackle, our goal is to enhance every encounter.  Integrating the latest advancements in materials and construction techniques is a means to downplay the presence of the gear.   Eliminate weight and increase feel.  Enjoy a running fish instead of fearing it. Button down the drag and go toe-to-toe with complete confidence.  Your focus is not on the equipment, it’s on the fish.

Wherever your travels take you, from the local pond to distant reef, we’re proud to be your partner in the discovery of what lies beneath.

Please join me in welcoming back Okuma!

I'm revamping my rod collection. Building new to replace the old. I have some I will sell, a couple I will give away, a few I will strip down and rebuild and a few I will keep as is.

One I will be keeping is a 7' MF Okuma Helios casting rod. It's the perfect fluke rod, for me, and I don't think I can build a better one without spending an arm and a leg.
