Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted March 15, 2017 Global Moderator Posted March 15, 2017 Got this in my email today. Combine a short sleeve shirt and an arm covering accessory. You have got to be kidding........... Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted March 15, 2017 Super User Posted March 15, 2017 I'm not quite sure what you are getting at here? Quote
Super User Darren. Posted March 15, 2017 Super User Posted March 15, 2017 I get that some folks are prone to skin conditions and require to be covered up. My Dad won't go out for that very reason. Years and years of sun exposure in the 40s and 50s and today he battles skin cancer. But to bundle up too much in the heat would make me faint, LOL. I like a decent fishing shirt with UV protection and will wear some protectant, too. That's about it for me. Quote

Why not just buy a long sleeve shirt?? I'm all for blocking uv rays but why wear short sleeves + arm protectors as opposed to a long sleeve shirt??? 6 Quote
jbw252 Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Well, if you had a lot of favorite short sleeved shirts, then you would only need one pair of arm protectors to be protected. Quote

tander Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 I guess whatever floats your boat or protect you from the sun. Personally, I wouldn't wear it. I do wear a long sleeve Huk shirt with gloves and a wide brim hat. If you ever had skin cancer removed, it changes your mind on what to wear. 2 Quote
Super User Scott F Posted March 15, 2017 Super User Posted March 15, 2017 Wait till next week when they come out with the leggings to cover your legs when you are wearing shorts. 1 Quote
Caliyak Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 I have similar sleeves. I do wear them when I wear a short sleeve shirt. No big deal. Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted March 15, 2017 Author Global Moderator Posted March 15, 2017 What about foot protectors? Or are those called shoes? 2 Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted March 15, 2017 Super User Posted March 15, 2017 reminds me of this 4 Quote
junyer357 Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 To me its a touch cooler with sleeves and a short sleeve shirt. The arm holes provide an extra place to vent. 2 Quote
Super User Spankey Posted March 15, 2017 Super User Posted March 15, 2017 I don't dress like that but, I think it has to do with skin cancer awareness. Hence get you to buy something. Whatever products float your boat I guess. Quote

Super User Gundog Posted March 16, 2017 Super User Posted March 16, 2017 When the fish start wearing Buff's I'm out. Quote
Fun4Me Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 With my fair skin, I can't stay in the sun with 50 spf for longer than a couple of hours. covering up, especially on the back of my neck and head allows me to enjoy fishing longer, and quite honestly I don't care what others think when I cover up. 2 Quote
Super User Raul Posted March 16, 2017 Super User Posted March 16, 2017 Yanks age well, we us dudes in the deep south need all the protection we can get specially when you are white or you'll end up looking as "fresh" as a 3000 year old Egyptian mummy by the time you turn 50. Seldomly I take a look at my face in the mirror, yesterday I did and for crying out loud, I never was good looking but let me tell you ..... that sob I saw is down right fugly ! He had wrinkles everywhere .... not a pretty sight. 1 Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted March 16, 2017 Super User Posted March 16, 2017 Having gone through several skin cancer removals, I wear long sleeved (SPF rated) shirts, Glacier Gloves and a wide brimmed hat. Wouldn't think about going out on the water without them. Plus, to protect against reflected rays, I apply Neutrogena's 100 SPF cream on all exposed areas such as neck and face, just to be sure! 3 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 16, 2017 Super User Posted March 16, 2017 I'm much more comfortable with loose fitting clothes that block the sun. Just can't get comfortable with the buff, and I know I wouldn't like the sleeves. Even with coverage and sun block, I still end up getting tan. 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted March 16, 2017 Super User Posted March 16, 2017 I put on a ton of sunblock on my arms, legs, and neck. My wide straw hat protects my head and face. One more plus to the sunblock is that I am starting to think it repels the mosquitoes. Either they don't like the taste of it, or it covers my scent. Quote
