2tall79 Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 One night every year, sometimes in February sometimes March, just like someone flipped a switch....all the frogs in the pond across the street start croaking. This usually coincides with the blooming of the ***** Willows and the Japanese Cherry trees. Time to start sharpening hooks and changing line. GAME ON! 5 Quote

Super User geo g Posted March 14, 2017 Super User Posted March 14, 2017 I have hit the lakes in south Florida and there have been millions of tadpoles everywhere along the bank. I have found this a difficult time to be on a decent bite because I think the bass population is just gorged with little black tadpoles. It is wide spread from Weston lakes to the everglades all at the same time. Its amazing how many there are at one time. Sometimes this happens in March through May. The frogs all seem to get the message, its time to have babies!!!!! 2 Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted March 14, 2017 Global Moderator Posted March 14, 2017 I saw a frog last Monday and now it's 19 with 2 inches of snow and smaller lakes froze again. Game off! ? 2 Quote

Geez, y'all are really getting pounded! Were you originally in the path, as I've read it wandered north of NYC where it was expected to hit hard. Stay warm, stay safe, and here's the sound of spring peepers to warm your thoughts 1 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 15, 2017 Global Moderator Posted March 15, 2017 We had frogs croaking last week. This week it hasn't made it above freezing, it's snowed 2 days, had freezing rain one day, and now it's in the low teens and the pond outside work is freezing back over as I'm typing this. 1 Quote

You wouldn't like it here. I just heard on the news that we have surpassed our normal rainfall totals for the whole year. And it's only March. Oh well, at least the lake levels are up. 1 Quote
