Would a 7'6" H Dobyns Sierra suit me well as my flipping rod? I would likely pair it with an 8.1:1 ***. I would get a spare spool too. One would have 50-65 lb braid, the other with 20-25 lb fluorocarbon.

That 766FLIP should work well for flipping for you.

I purchased the 735C Sierra a few months back for a frog rod and I've been very impressed with the quality for a sub $200 rod.

Hey, every reason to be excited about a new rod.  :teeth:  I read that they are exceptional rods for the price.

OP, fishnkamp seems to have experience with this line, so maybe he will be along to offer more information.

Yes sir, he convinced me to go this route.

This is a pricey rod for me!

I am blessed to be able to get it!

Just noticed that you are a relatively new member.  If I didn't say "Hello" before, then :hi: and :welcome: to the forum.

Problem with that is you have to remember to carry the extra with you.  In something that will protect it.  I've got probably 4 extra spools for baitcast reels, but I'd rather carry an extra combo already set up.

Thanks, if it weren't for that feature and the drag, i wouldn't be getting that reel.
