TxHawgs Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 I'm placing a TW order and only know Snaps by looking at them not sure what number sz to order for 1/2, 1/4oz and 1.5 square bills? I also don't like the Mustad ones I have and want to try the VMC's which would be there 1, 2 or 3 sz or the Molix Hyper snap in their 2, 3 or 4? I'm aware of the Owner Hyper Snaps but like the other two better. If anyone has good or bad experiences w the VMC or Molix let me know, thanks. Quote
Super User NHBull Posted March 14, 2017 Super User Posted March 14, 2017 I have not used those particular clips, but keep in mind the size of the bait and where the eye is. The closer the bait eye is to "v", where the bill meets the bait, the smaller the clip needed.....if that makes sense. I have some decoys and pline on the way....I have also used speed clip, which can be a pain , given these old eyes. Quote
long island basser Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 I would recommend PLine Technical snap in size 1 or 2. Most times I use #1 for lmb. The larger size #3 gets use in my saltwater fishing. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/P-Line_Technical_Snap/descpage-TPBB.html Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted March 14, 2017 Super User Posted March 14, 2017 I use size #1 for jerkbaits & size #2 for crankbaits & swimbaits. Quote

Super User ww2farmer Posted March 15, 2017 Super User Posted March 15, 2017 I use the same ones for my cranks that I do for making my chatterbaits and silver buddy's... Lure parts online part #: 4222-02 012 They are 25lb rated snaps. Never had an issue with them Quote
