Robert Riley Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 I need some 6# FC for my crappie reel, I figure enough bass guys use 6#. I hate using straight FC on spinning reels, so what in your experience has the least memory? Since P-Line Tactical is BOGO at F&S rn, I'll probably buy that, but I'd like to know what you guys think. Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 14, 2017 Global Moderator Posted March 14, 2017 Highly suggest checking out the new Finesse Fluoro from Seaguar. I've been using some 5.2lb on my trout/light bass rod and it's been great. Quote
bigfruits Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 no problems with straight 5 and 6# sniper FC on spinning reels. i use kvd line and lure conditioner. Quote
junyer357 Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 I run 8# power pro braid with no problems on my crappie/panfish rods. I dont fish much ultra clear water either though. Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted March 14, 2017 Super User Posted March 14, 2017 InvizX or any of the "finesse" specific labeled lines (Seaguar, Toray, etc.) -T9 Quote
Super User NHBull Posted March 14, 2017 Super User Posted March 14, 2017 10 lb Braid with seaguar blue 8 lb Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted March 14, 2017 Super User Posted March 14, 2017 Unless you are fishing a lot of brush and snags, consider going to a braid mainline with a fluorocarbon leader. I fish mainly open water for crappie with little chance of bottom snagging. So, I fish 2# test Fireline Crystal, with a 4# test fluorocarbon leader, about 4' in length. Have been using this combination for many seasons now. Will never go back to regular mono/fluoro lines again. The braid affords me dramatic increases in sensitivity. It also cuts the water well and allows me to control the depth of my retrieve better. The fluoro leader (connected ONLY with the Alberto knot) gives me the abrasion resistance and shock absorption qualities that I need. May not work for everyone, but it works for me. 1 Quote
Airman4754 Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 I've been using the same 6lb Inviz-X leader for about three weeks and have caught a lot of fish and broke off quite a few jig heads and it's still going strong. I normally use 6lb CX, which has always been bullet proof as well. Quote
Super User Angry John Posted March 14, 2017 Super User Posted March 14, 2017 sniper and p-line 100% are good and about the same. Quote
