For that beautiful reel, there's only one choice. Go custom. Contact Mike at DVT, and let him build you a stick worthy of the reel.

The Orochi XX Diablo Spec R is the winner hands down. Balances well, and has amazing sensitivity. It's not even a contest. The E6X is a decent rod, but it is nowhere near a $200 rod. It would be much better down at the $100 price range.

The Orochi xx line is hard to beat for the money. Depending on what your plans are for the rod, the dsr might not be the best choice though. What are your intended uses for the rod? I own most of the xx lineup so I'll help you out if I can. The new xxx line is priced a tad better but without any real world experience yet it tough to say how it'll stick up against the xx. It's a good looking rod though.

Love my Diablo Spec R, I'd go that over the E6x any day. But it also depends what you intend to fish with the rod, as based on the specs of that E6x it's a totally different rod. The Diablo is more of an all purpose rod with a taper that works well for a lot of moving baits especially single hook moving baits and lipless cranks. But for me it's plenty fast for creature bait and worms on a weightless or light trig, light jigs, swim jigs. I've pulled a dozen bass under 2lbs out of lily pads with it throwing a trigged sweet beaver and 3/8 oz tungsten. But I do love my Diablo, it's one of my favorite rods.

Specs on that E6x indicate it's a dedicated bottom contact type of rod with an exfast taper. I'm not familiar with the series or how they handle. But if a traditional American exfast JWR taper is what you're after the Diablo is not that rod.

If if you want a jig and worm rod in the Orochi series look at the EMTF, Tour Versatile, XH Jig n Worm, or the Perfect Pitch. In the price range I'd also suggest the Kistler Helium MH XF in 7'1", some say it's not a true XF but it handles with a faster taper then the Diablo in my hands. But it's a hell of a great casting and pitching rod.

I had the TV but sold it because it was too similar to the PP. The J&W is the only rod in the series I've heard anything negative about. Other people state that it's pretty tip heavy and unlike the other rods in the xx series.

Thanks that's what I needed to hear. I have a TV and trying to decide if I want the PP or the J&W at some point.

I've heard the same feedback about the J&W as well so I've always been far more interested in the PP.

Go with the perfect pitch. It's a great rod. I like it over the tv and that's why I kept it out of the two. Though the tv is nice I was trying to cut down on rods and that's why it's gone. I'd of kept it too if not.

Planning to use it for all purposes.Swimbaits, jigs, worms, cranks, poppers ETC you name it.

The reel thats coming will be a 6:8:1 and i love fishing soft lures.

If it will see more bottom contact than moving baits then the emtf is a better choice. It's 3" longer but has a faster taper which is good for jigs and t rigs. The dsr isn't a bad choice though at all. It's just more of a mod fast than the emtf. I've used it for t rigs in a pinch but it's not my first choice.

Because i spent like 300$ on the reel i dont have that much cash with me.

Im trying to be versatile as i can and try my best to get a do it all rod.

Might need to go with the E6X tho but im not sure.

You can buy them used on eBay from $180-220. Just keep an eye out for one.

The XX DSR is a very versatile rod. If I lost mine, Id buy it again. Balances very well with any reel I mount to it. I wasnt expecting it to be as sensitive as it is.

I use mine mostly for moving baits - 1/2oz and greater. Chatterbaits, swimjigs, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, paddletails on jigheads, lipless in grass, small hard swimbaits.

Ive never fished the XX EMTF but have read a lot about it. I'd get this for a jig/worm focused combo vs the DSR. I hear the PP is a killer frog rod.

If you're on a budget you could look at the MB Levante series Diablo. TackleTour did a review and gave it good marks. It has Eva grips though, and word on the street is that it doesn't compete with the XX in terms of sensitivity or crispness.

Im not a big fan of EVA grips. To me makes the rod feel cheap for me and not the most stylish to me. I prefer cork over EVA but hey ill take it if i need it.

for a rod to handle everything in its weight range (except deep cranks maybe) i'd take a hard look at the 2016 GLX 843 MBR. Gary at the Tackle Trap has these for 25% off currently. He also carries the MB XX line and will have the new XXX line. He has fished hundreds of rods and will happily compare rods for you if you give him a call or send an email.
