Yes, but the strength is seriously underrated. The 12lb test easily has the breaking strength of any quality 17lb test line. It's almost ridiculous. You really don't much heavier than 12lb test hybrid for 90% of bass fishing applications. P-Line's copolymer has a very similar reputation. All this said, I find it's best suited as a leader and not a main line due to memory. Some folks have had good luck with ample line conditioner. I solved it by spooling with braid. Quote
MNGeorge Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Never tried it as a main line...use braid for almost everything. That said, to address your question about strength, I use it as leader material in 12 lb. test and have had no issues whatsoever with it. The Mississippi River is tough on leaders and the Hybrid holds up at least as well as if not better than the fluorocarbon I used to use and at a fraction of the cost. I use a Palomar knot to secure terminal tackle and a back to back Uni-knot to connect with the braid and have had no issues with knot breakage. Quote
TBAG Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 I've been using the 6lb on my spinning setups for ned rigs and weightless senkos. I'm contemplating trying it on my crankbait setups. Would you guys suggest 10 or 12 lb? Quote
VolFan Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 10 or even 8. I use 12 and 15 for my swimbait setups with weights from 1 to 6 oz. Quote
Dangerfield Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 I just picked up a 600 yard spool on Amazon for $15. I was going to test it as a mainline to get a good handle on the line memory. If it's bad, I'm going back to braid as a mainline and I'll use this as leader material. Quote

If it is YZH, it won't be bad unless it is 15 or greater....or you neglect to use KVD L&L 1 Quote
