I went to Super Walmart today (Saturday) and as I usually do I headed to the fishing section.  To my surprise I saw two lure companies I've never seen before at a Walmart.  One was Mann's.  Another was Roboworms.   I don't think, in all the times I've been to Walmart, I've seen any Mann's lures.  The lure they had for sale and I bought was the Reel N Shad.   The other, Roboworms, was a big shock.  I see them for sale at Gander Mountain but I've never seen the for sale at Walmart.  They had one pack of 4 1/2" straight tail finesse worms and the packaging was a resealable package, the kind other companies soft plastics come in.  Of course I bought that too.

Anyway, this was really shock to see these two companies for the first time at Walmart.

Awesome.

I've also just seen roboworms for sale at one of the several Walmarts near me.  At another one, they have always carried the minus one, frogs, and a few huge jelly worms.

One place carries a huge selection of War Eagle spinnerbaits.  Its the only one.

Here are some other new finds:

At an inner city southern Walmart: new deep Shadow Raps

Also:

- Booyah frogs

- Three-packs of Booyah frogs

- Rapala shad raps and Rattle-Traps with new colors

- New YUM baits (not in bargain bin) including new craws and dinger colors

I live in a big city with few mom-and-pop store options.  So I like to pop into Walmart too.

I just got back from my local regular Walmart and they they had the same thing, in fact they had two kinds of Roboworms and that other Mann's lure.  Roboworms and Mann's must be making a push to be in more stores or something.  Anyway, Roboworms are the ultimate finesse worm and I love them.

Haven't seen those yet, but I did see two colors of Havoc Pit Boss now being displayed. Our fishing sections are being changed in our local Walmarts. No more Seaguar or Stren flourocarbon for starters, just vanish. Gamakatsu and Mustad hooks are also gone.

Yeah, the Super Walmart I go to changed a lot of their store around.  Moved the fishing section and shrunk it some.  Moved the magazine and DVD/video game section to the very back and more.

I know right? The best things I've got from walmart are that zebco line they sell dirt cheap that I use as backing line, and they one time had zoom flukes for a dollar a pack that I stocked up on. Other than that I never seem to find many deals there.

I'm a little surprised.  The Walmart fishing sections in Minnesota, the Land of 10,000 Lakes, which has a $3-4 billion dollar per year value to the economy (Google it for a citation) are absolutely worthless. Nothing of significance is ever on sale, most of the tackle is low-end, and very little aisle space is devoted to fishing. For reference, the fishing aisle at my local Super Walmart is about the size of the aisle devoted to Rubbermaid storage containers, about 20' long.

They don't sell a spinning rod ? Line ? Some jigs, senkos and shad raps ?

Odd if not.  Back in Michigan Walmart (where I lived had a decent section..  so did the other one directly across the street lol)

Here in rural Ohio the Walmart still has some stuff. No it's not top shelf.. but I can get power pro, rapala , SK and zoom . And usually I don't need much more than that.

I went to one in Kentucky that had rage tail baits.
