The rest of the NFL has had time to figure out how to defend against them now, and will be well prepared. Don't get me wrong. Dallas is good, but their opponents weren't prepared for their new offense. They are now. Just puttin' it back out there again. Every year, there's a "surprise" team. One that does much better than expected. Last year it was Dallas. This year...keep an eye on the Texans. Looks like they found themselves a QB. Pair that with their stout defense, and they could go places. The Raiders? Not yet ready for prime time yet, but they're on the right track. Expect a break-out year from them in the next season or two. All that said, injuries dictate seasons more than anything else. So put a big asterisk next to any prediction this early in the season. dwh4784 Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 Talking about surprise teams, how about Buffalo and the LA Rams. Both of them look really good, with some good wins (especially Buffalo). I was definitely wrong about the Patriots being so great, I didn't see their defense being this bad. GB really messed up not landing a real RB like Latavius Murray or AP. Montgomery is hurt already and will never last a season. People talk about Indy wasting Andrew Luck, but GB is sorta doing the same thing to Rodgers. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted October 12, 2017 Super User Posted October 12, 2017 Hoping my Steelers can take down the Chief's this weekend. We need a good bounce back after last week. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted October 15, 2017 Super User Posted October 15, 2017 Being the Eagles fan that I am, I am always going to be cautiously optimistic on my team nd their success. I truly thought they were going to take an L going into carolina on a short week and facing a hot team. I am glad they proved me wrong and played very well despite the refs who were ridiculous biased (if you think i am being sour just search for pete morelli stats and see what he has done in the past when he reffed eagles games). Wentz is continuing to impress me with his decision making and mobility but he needs to get through his reads faster for sure. Our defense is playing very well though and i hope it continues. Tough three game stretch before the bye week too but we will see what happens. Still a lot of football to be played and anything can happen... 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted October 17, 2017 Super User Posted October 17, 2017 Looks like Green Bay's chances just went down the drain this season. Sucks that one of the faces of this league is out but it wasn't a dirty hit nor was it a penalty, just landed wrong on that shoulder and broke a collar bone. He broke his other collar bone in 2013 and came back in week 17 to beat the Bears on the road for the division title. Quote
Burtonxj Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Gotta love this parity! Gonna be interesting. Quote

Prior to last week Hundley had thrown a total of 11 NFL passes....lets give it a few games before saying he isnt any good. Signing kaep is pointless for Gb. They have 3 years tied up in Hundley . They might as well see what they have there because everybody knows their season is lost at this point. Plus… Green Bay lives and dies by the “next man up” moto. Kaepernick is most likely done until maybe next year. Quote

Super User J._Bricker Posted October 23, 2017 Super User Posted October 23, 2017 I can’t comment on the KC-OAK game other than I was surprised da Raida’s won. Now, for my team the Niners, any mention of them in this thread should be under the title “Road to the 2018 NFL number one pick”.... Quote

That about covers it, but at least it made it an entertaining game to watch. I feel bad for the reffs though, (although they did do a pretty bad job, but still) I'm a soccer referee and we hate making game changing calls. And having to make calls that directly decide the winner and loser of the game that many times is torture. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted October 24, 2017 Super User Posted October 24, 2017 Again I am cautious in my optimism but Wentz looks to be the real deal. The connection he has made with Ertz and Alshon opening up the field and pushing Agholor to the slot has made a big improvement to the offensive efficiency. Losing Peters hurts and I wonder if they will move Johnson to the LT spot from his RT spot now. The defense continues to play well and come up big when needed. Losing Hicks, again, isn't a good thing and will ,make the tendency for TE to eat us alive even more prominent. Trap game coming up next week too with the winless 49ers. Quote

There's talk at one of the Bills forums that Buffalo may be a trade partner for Phila given our abundance of tackles. Even talk of moving Dareus, but that's a tough bargain for cap space. Quote

It would have cost them a lot, but they were willing to carry two starting quarterback contracts on their books to do it. Garoppolo, however, made it clear he that wants to be a starter, not just a guy paid like one. Quote
