bassguytom Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 What everyone but the Philly faithful already counted the Eagles out? Nicky Foles has it in him and we have a pretty good defense. I think there will be some surprised national sports casters on Saturday. 1 Quote

The Jaguars will get smoked at the Steelers if they play like they did against Buffalo. Buffalo didn't deserve to even be a playoff team. Atlanta is a 2.5 point favorite, as a 6 seed, at the top seed Eagles. The Saints are going to find things MUCH more difficult as a road team against the Vikings than they did at the friendly confines of the Superdome. SKOL Saints aint the same offense or defense ? Super User flyfisher Posted January 9, 2018 Super User Posted January 9, 2018 I am glad the media is counting out Philly. They haven't had anything to play for since the Giants game (which Foles played very well in might i add) and the offense was very very basic the last two games. I truly think Pedersen didn't want to give teams any film on Foles or keys to the offense. If the defense continues to play like they have been and they commit to the run they should be able to take care of Atlanta. One side note is Matt Ryan grew up not far from Philly and I am sure he will be distracted somewhat by all the family nearby. Gonna be a good one. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted January 9, 2018 Super User Posted January 9, 2018 Yeah, I wouldn't count Philly out with Foles... That said, it's a very tough NFC mix with Eagles, Vikes, and Saints in the mix. Maybe Falcons will surprise, as well. AFC? Pats or Steelers. Can't see anyone else making it to the final game. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted January 9, 2018 Super User Posted January 9, 2018 NFC is pretty good top to bottom. I do agree about the AFC but that Jax defense is nothing to laugh at either. I also have a feeling NE loses in the AFC championship game. Titans are also playing with house money so who knows what will happen there 1 Quote

Not sure the Titans will go past Pats. But its anyone's to win. Wouldn't shed a tear if Pats lose to Titans or victor of Steelers/Jax. 1 Quote

Finally started coming out of their funk in the past 3 years only to start screwing up again this season. It's ok though. Win, lose or tie, I'm a die hard Cowboys fan til I die! Good luck with your Broncos. ? Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted January 11, 2018 Author Super User Posted January 11, 2018 Well, let's not forget that the Giants beat the Patriots in two Super Bowls and they had VIRTUALLY NO CHANCE the first time around. Take your pick, all the teams still standing have a shot. Quote

A-Jay We appreciate you still pulling for us The Eagles defense is going to be the key as is the running game. I truly think that they toned down the offense and played it very vanilla the last two weeks to not give any tape on Foles or the schemes they want to run come playoff time.People are focusing on the last two games but also forget that Foles threw 4 TDs against a division rival to secure a first round bye. I think we get past the Falcons but the game against either Minnesota or the Saints is gonna be tough. Minnesota is a very well rounded team and their defense is straight up nasty Quote

What sucks is Wentz loses the opportunity to gain playoff experience. Next year, they'll be back if Wentz stays healthy. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted January 12, 2018 Super User Posted January 12, 2018 We match up well against the Falcons. I agree that Foles is a backup for a reason but he has the ability to not make us lose a game as well. It is going to come down to smart coaching and defense. We have a very good running game that can hit you in multiple ways. Cox is going to have to create havoc in the middle and collapse the pocket like he has all season. Quote

Super User Darren. Posted January 14, 2018 Super User Posted January 14, 2018 Once again an Atlanta team finds new and innovative ways to disappoint. Forever known for the Knee-ster-ception...oh wait, nevermind. Sorry Atlanta, just wasn't in the cards this year. Credit to the Eagles and a lot of heart. Foles shook off first quarter jitters. 1 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted January 14, 2018 Super User Posted January 14, 2018 Eagles defense is no joke...they play a lot better at home too only letting up like 12 points a game. Atlanta wasn't ready for it and i would venture a guess they looked past us a little bit and now they have an entire offseason to think about it... 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 15, 2018 Author Super User Posted January 15, 2018 How 'bout them Vikings? What a finish! Next week's games should be a lot of fun. 1 Quote
NathanDLTH Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Eagles vs Vikings will be a defense game. Little points, the winner will probably face the Patriots....again. Quote
Super User Gundog Posted January 16, 2018 Super User Posted January 16, 2018 IMO, only upside to the Steelers loss in the playoffs is that the Patriots signed James Harrison for no good reason. He'll be cut at the end of the season. Quote

I don't think for a second he was signed for leverage against the steelers, he's been playing way too much if that's the case. He sat all season, so the pats got fresh legs on a good defensive player. 1 Quote

Wasn't at all surprised that the Patriots picked him up. Quote
