Ok so I'm choosing between the original tatula 100hs and the Curado 200ihg, which one do I pick.

I want to use braid, and I heard twing has problems with that. As well as flipping and pitching, frogging, and lipless baits. I need a general workhorse  in the 7 speed range. So I figured I'd get some input.

New T wing has no issues with braid, I'm running 50 lb braid on both reels you're asking about. Both perform similarly so it's hard to pick either one as better. Pick a color, you can't go wrong!

Either will be fine, though the Tatula CT might be slightly better. Pretty much the same spool capacity in a slightly smaller frame.

They fixed the TWing problem awhile ago, so you shouldn't have a problem.  In my opinion just flip a coin.

Actually I'd recommend getting the close out on the CI4+ Chronarch for 199.  If you can swing it, otherwise see my previous post. ?

I had both, curado felt great but tatula ct was more effortless to cast because of t wing. Sold the curado and kept the daiwa.

No experience with Tatula, but I have several chronarchs and curados.  For the price the curado is a great deal.  I also love the curado 70 as well if you are looking for something smaller.  I think either way you will be pleased.  All mentioned are good reels.

I prefer the curado over the tatula. Just my opinion.

Having owned both, I found the Curado to be more comfortable to palm. I also liked the way the Curado casted better. Both reels performed great and didn't have any issues. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either. I suggest holding both and seeing which one you prefer.

Just to be clear, are you talking about the older original Tatula 100HS or the newer Tatula CT 100HS?

It's going to come down to preference based on the braking systems, T-Wing vs no T-Wing, how they feel in your hand, and looks.

Both are great reels and you'll be happy with either. Good luck :D

I would go with the newer CT models for about $10 more ($100 TYD from Tackle Trap...I just called them on that) but that's just me :).

I love Daiwa reels, but the old Tatula is my least favorite reel of theirs that I have.  The frame is awkward to me in how it fits while palming it.

Just ordered a Curado 200i, it'll be here on Sunday! Thanks for the input!

There is no Tatula 100 CT.  CT stands for Compact Tatula. The 100 series is the bigger framed reel.

Let us know how you like it, after you get some fishing time on it.

i think we make too much fuss about what gear is best.  all reputable companies these days makes good gear, the internet has made sure of that.  it's more about what feels right to us.

congrats on finding a new toy. i love getting new gear to play with!

Just got the Curado in, absolutely love it. Svs takes a little getting used to, but it's amazing when you do figure it out.

Good choice. Just keep the brake drum oiled and you shouldn't have any problems

How often do you oil the drum? Just one drop on a q-tip good enough?
