For me the first real sign of Spring is when I hear that first lawn mower fire up. That signals to me, Winter is officially over. I don't care what the weather does after that.

You speak the truth Hootie!!

People say that when Robin's first appear is the first sign of spring. We had 5 Robins in our garden Tuesday, then 2 inches of snow Tuesday night and our lakes are still iced over.........

For me, the first sign of spring is being able to step outside without getting ticked off due to cold/snow/ice.

I always track the return of the Robins here. Always that first day each year when they seem to just suddenly appear by the dozens out of nowhere. Back in 2008 it was Feb 28. This year March 02. Always pretty close to the same date regardless of weather.

Our lawnmowers tend to run year-round here, so that's

not gonna work. Let's see...robins, but they can be seen

during winter, too.  That leaves - SPRING PEEPERS!!!

Music to my ears when driving at night by waters with

my windows down.

We have some resident robins and geese but have seen more than usual here in Michigan the past week or two. I've also seen a ton of red winged black birds and sand hill cranes are back, the one that did it for me Tuesday morning was I saw a frog of all things jumping around by my house, so I know we're close! With that said...2-4" of snow Monday! ?

Robins are here year round.  They winter over in the swamps.  Make that some Robins stay year round.  Some do migrate.

Spring is here and they are calling for 8-18 inches of snow here. Sounds about right. Wish I lived in Florida. :sun-003:
