Super User roadwarrior Posted March 8, 2017 Super User Posted March 8, 2017 http://www.banditlures.com/product/ Like a lot of guys, I'm all about "The Next New Thing", but then we sometimes overlook classics that are killer. Several lures come to mind, but the Bandit 100, 200 and 300 take center stage in their category. Spring is prime time. 4 Quote
S. Sass Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Indeed these are some good ones. Large array of colors and patterns to pick from. Brown Craw Org Belly, and Splatterback are some nice colors for me. Here are some of my favorites. I get a lot of use from the Footloose, 100s and some 200s. They were much better before the prices jumped. It seems the price was hiked on them. Its like all of a sudden they are at least $1 or $2 higher recently. Quote
IndianaFinesse Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 I'm a fan of the bandit's also, especially the bandit 100 and footloose. Are they our next sponsor? 4 Quote
tander Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Bandits 100, 200, 300 are my #1 crankbaits. Just reloaded the tackle box with them for $4.95 on sale. Mostly use chart. craw, natural shad, tenn shad, and baby bass. They are hard to beat for the money. Quote

GreenGhostMan Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 I haven't fished any bandit 100 or 200s. I think I may have one in my crankbait box, but have never tied it on. They are only 1/4 oz, right? Do you guys fish them on spinning reels? Seems really light for a crankbait. I'm trying fluorocarbon on my crankbait rod for the first time this season and feel like it would be backlash after backlash with a 1/4 oz crankbait. Quote

I use a spinning rod for it, but a decent medium powered baitcaster can throw it just fine. Quote

They throw pretty well, I throw the 300 series on a Lews David Fritts rod 7' med. heavy. Quote

Super User whitwolf Posted March 8, 2017 Super User Posted March 8, 2017 If I throw a crankbait at night I usually throw a Bandit 200. It's a black body with a chartreuse stripe on the belly. I have a stash of these but unfortunately that color scheme has been discontinued. 1 Quote
Mumbly Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 I bought some Bandit 100's last year on clearance for $2.40. I don't recall if they are pre-pradco but I haven't used them yet. Should try them this spring tho. Quote
Lil fat guy Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Bandits always seemed like a good solid crankbait to me. They aren't as flashy as some of the newer companies, but most of that flashy stuff is meant to catch us fishermen anyways. It does catch us at times though, myself included, but I'll always have some bandits in the box. If you need a certain color, they probably have it! Quote

I throw these on a Fenwick HMG Crankbait rod with a Lew's Speed Spool LFS Series with no problem. This combo with the Bandit 100s has caught hundreds if not a 1000 fish. One of my go to setups for the 100 series Bandits and the Mann's 1- minus. 1 Quote
Super User Spankey Posted March 10, 2017 Super User Posted March 10, 2017 I'm not much for jumping on the new things all that fast. I've been fishing Bandits since they hit the scene years ago. I do my lure comparisons against Rapalas. The Bandits were a winner from the get go. Some of the great patterns of yesterday are long gone. The G-Loc trebels are gone. I'm lucky to have those patterns and spares. Hope they bring some of those back again. I'm not sure where Bandit is going as a company. To me and just my personal opinion some of their new patterns are lame. Great post. Great lure. Have caught many smallies on Bandits. Tuff to find a good full line dealer of Bandits these days. 1 Quote
jr231 Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Only bandits I use are 100, 200. In black, and pearl white. Bomber has a chartreuse "blush" that has been catching me fish for a decade. I like the fat rap the most. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 11, 2017 Global Moderator Posted March 11, 2017 The 100 and 200 series in Mistake color are a bait I don't talk about much that are really productive for me. Quote

I use small cranks, poppers, and even 1/8 oz. spinnerbaits on my M/MF all the time. Doesn't cast then across the lake, but it does ok for me On 3/8/2017 at 6:27 PM, whitwolf said: If I throw a crankbait at night I usually throw a Bandit 200. Clinton john Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Unless I'm going down to the 20 foot depth or deeper all I use is bandit cranckbaits, the 100 and 200. Use pearl black back and white with black back, also some with sparkle or scale design. I throw all mine on 7 foot mh fast tip lews rods with lews reels, no backlash problems unless I get in a rush and make a hard whip style cast into hard winds. Bottom line you could do alot worse then bandits, I get mine at Toledo town tackle and the bait shop in zwolle. The bait shop has the best prices under 6 dollars a peace. Quote
DodgeRamWax Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Bandit 100 in brown craw has caught me more bass then any other crank bait I own. Hands down! 1 Quote
