A-Jay a question about the Spike It Dip N Glo, is it as smelly as JJ's?

I've always heard to keep JJ's out of extreme heat. Is this the same for Spike It?

First off, I do not nor have I ever used JJ's.  I have no doubt however that it works well.  But I've read too many posts here regarding it noxious & rather nuclear properties, especially when spilled,58c080997739e_pukecity.jpg.970fc04f2a6e285287a9ece667306f77.jpg so I've deliberately avoided it.  Which also means I have no experience based point of reference as to how the Spike-It product's odor compares.

The Spike-It garlic does have a decent 'stank' factor although it does not seem to illicit a gag reflex, so it may be something less than the JJ product.

Either way the Spike-It does a nice job of both coloring up the tips of craw claws, swim bait tails & tips of worms, which is how I most often use it, as well as making me think that on some trips, it just might be magic  ..  ..  ..  ..

btw - if you don't use Megastrike, @Bobby Uhrig might beat you up after school  ..  ..  .. .. just sayin'

I use garlic scented markers at times.  I do it for the color as well as the scent.  With a pack of garlic markers (blue, orange, red and chartreuse), I can carry fewer colors of soft plastics and use the garlic markers to fine-tune my color selection.  I believe the scent also attracts fish, and, for the most part, I think they do hold on to a bait with a quality scent on it better than with nothing at all.

I use the kvd lure enhancer sticks.  Also use the sticky liquid when I fish tubes.  Got some megastrike in my last LTB that I plan to try at some point.  I figure that scents can't hurt, so why not?

Cool thanks for the info. Yeah it sounds like it is less potent. Lets say I used JJ's 1 time. Left a bait I had used it on tied on the hook. 30 min car ride and my car smelled of JJ's for days.

I personally have never used Megastrike. I have no objection to using it, I just bank fish a lot and the little KVD FishSticks scent are small like lipbalm lol. Easy to transport and apply. Though I may pick up some Megastrike at some point.

I use the KVD Fishsticks as well.  For me, the larger .5 oz models work better than the smaller .15 ones even though the latter is advertised as being 4X the scent (maybe I got a bad batch).

I use the crawdad & shad scents on soft plastics (including ZMan products) and the shad on the belly of hard bodied topwater baits.

Do not leave these in direct sunlight on a summer day, I found out they will literally turn to a liquid.
