MDbassin Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 I have an combo I bought from Cabelas a couple years ago it's the lews laser combo and the reel is acting up. I would like to fix it to give to my son so we can fish together. The problem I'm having is it handle seems to turn in stages... the best way I can describe it is like a second hand on a clock. It will crank like an inch then slow down and bind up crank an inch bind up and so on. It seems to come and go but last time I used it it seemed to be getting worse. any ideas? Quote

Check the worm gear for grooves. Does it go from rough to smooth every couple turns? Quote
