Bailey. K Bassin Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 I was woundering if anyone has any experice on any of the lakes in southern Ontario (algonquin park and lower). I am looking for new water and wanted to see if anyone could give some insite on where and how they caught them. Thanks. Quote
Kidflex Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Not sure what lakes he fishes but Karl kolanka from extreme angler tv fishes in Ontario a lot. Not sure what channel the show is on but i watch full episodes on YouTube. He catches good sized largemouths all the time on Ontario lakes. Might can get some insight there Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted March 7, 2017 Super User Posted March 7, 2017 You catch'em the same as the south of the border bass. ? No real difference. Quote
Tim Kelly Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 I've fished a few lakes on the Rideau chain around Westport. Plenty of fish, but not the size Karl Kolanka catches in his lakes. He seems to be on some much better sized largemouth where he goes. Quote
Zach Winn Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 What area are you thinking? Ontario is packed full of good lakes. Quote

ThatFishin'Guy Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 I'm more of a river rat myself but a few that I've heard good things about are Rice Lake, Lake Nipissing, Kawarthas and of course Lake St. Clair. Quote

Super User RoLo Posted March 10, 2017 Super User Posted March 10, 2017 If you're willing to drive to the lowest stretches of Ontario, you might well consider driving to higher reaches. Then we can talk turkey Quote

I'd do that on a daily basis. dan94 Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 The bay of quinte located on the north east end of lake ontario from belleville to picton produces good numbers of BIG LMB. Also any of the kawarthas produce good bass fishing for large and smallmouth bass. Rice lake is a very high pressured lake but mainly on walleye. Never had a problem pulling out the hawgs from rice.
