It's a toad Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 I was want to buy some flipping jigs and was curious which ones I should get. I heard a lot about http://www.siebertoutdoors.com and was wondering what are the advantages? Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 1, 2017 Super User Posted March 1, 2017 What ever you decide on, get wire tied. The skirts last forever. I like the Arky, Brush, and Dredge jigs. 1 Quote
Robert Riley Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 I tie all my flipping jigs to a dredge brush jig head from Siebert. I like them very much. Quote
CTBassin860 Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Im hoping to say its the Siebert outdoors dredge brush jig after this season! They sure look nice. Quote
Brayberry Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 I use the Brush head 95% of the time, I also make my own Quote
S. Sass Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 Dredge Brush Jig from Siebert is the one and only head I throw. I no longer use any other brand or style. Advantages? Well lets see Great price Not mass produced / hand made Almost endless options, if you don't see it email Mike he is very easy to work with. Very friendly personal service Forum sponsor Band name hooks like Owner, Mustad, and Trokar 1 Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted March 2, 2017 Super User Posted March 2, 2017 Lots of skirt options and head colors Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted March 2, 2017 Super User Posted March 2, 2017 I don't flip jigs too often, I'm usually t-rigging something. But I catch some nice ones with a bitsy flip and zoom trailer. I do wire the skirt on. And if it hangs fatally, oh well. I will say that if I was sponsored by Siebert, I'd be throwing those, they are awesome jigs. Quote

Why not throw them? I'm not sponsored, pay full shot for mine, and they're all I throw. There's a discount code for BassResource members. (BR15). 3 Quote

jr231 Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 I'm hoping the jika rig will do well for my pitching this summer. I have a few different weights and hook sizes rigged up. 1 Quote
Super User Catt Posted March 2, 2017 Super User Posted March 2, 2017 Best flipping jig is the one tied on the end of my rod & no you can't use it! Received some Siebert jigs for Christmas but aint had time to get em wet. I like the head design, hook quality, & the fact they are hand made. 1 Quote
S. Sass Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 FYI I also am not sponsored by Siebert Outdoors. Shoot come to think of it I am not sponsored by anyone. Seriously though Mike earned my business as I read numerous times here on BR of other very pleased customers. One order later and I was hooked (pun intended). Every order since has been equally or more impressive. The discount from BR if I ever got it it was because Mike put it on there. Even at list price these are excellent jigs for the retail price. Its like they are on sale all the time. Once you get your order you will see the quality hand assembled work. Easily one of the best priced fishing jigs for this quality period from what I have seen. Used Rage Monkey & Rage Hawg mainly, was going to explore further last year but got in to Jigs and couldn't put them down. Definitely potential there, has different look than a T rig or anything they normally see. I may have to revisit this year. Assuming I can put the Jig down, I have develped a pretty serious addiction.... 1 Quote

I have zoom hogs and the space monkey and they both catch fish for me as well. I just made my j rigs with some dropshot weights and split rings off unused cranks. The cheapest I could find ones that were pre made were like 5 bucks. Lol. But somehow, I don't have a problem paying that for a bag of plastic . Quote
mheichelbech Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 The best flipping jig will be the one you have the most confidence in. I totally ageee about wire tied skirts. Many of mine with the little rubber band or surgical tubing, whatever it is, are dry rotting and breaking. Gonna have to retire them. I am sure the Seibert jigs will catch bass as well or better than any others. Also, I like jigs with and without rattles. Some days it matters a lot. Btw, the best way to get good at jig fishing is to start out using. A 14 foot jigging pole. Amazing what a difference it makes in catching fish. Quote
