So I order several packs of jig heads and I get two emails with the same order number. I was trying to email them to make sure they are only charging me for one and sending one order. They don't answer and I've also never received a notification of a shipment. It's been over a week.

For you guys that have ordered do they tell you when the order has shipped? Seems like a company I may not want to deal with again. Very poor communication.

I have ordered from them once. If my memory serves me correct it took about a week to week in a half and then I received an email saying my order had shipped and he did give a tracking number.

They've been around a while, and a small outfit I believe. Probably not competitive with the network of instant shippers nowadays. Even Cabelas and BassPro aren't up to par with the likes of Tacklewarehouse and Amazon.

Before i started pouring my own jig heads, I used to order all of my Ned heads from them.  Good prices and good hook and head options, but they are not a huge company that hires technological geniuses.  Never had them screw anything up, usually received my order within a week or two.

Ok thanks. I'm just not used to not receiving notifications showing shipping a week after ordering. Just wish the communication was better. Looks like a good product.

I checked my card today and nothing has been changed to it. Tried to call but no answer other than a machine and I was at work so I didn't leave a message.

P.S.  I try and leave a message once at home and the memory on the answering machine was full. Wow! How does someone stay in business. Guess it's on to other sources.

Iirc Gohper is a one man operation these days.  I know my last order took a while to appear on my CC.  They may not run the card until they are ready to ship.

I ordered some jigs about two years ago and it was shiped to me in one or so weeks.  Last year I ordered more jigs and it took two weeks or so to get them.  I really like their little jigs.  I would order more but I have a lot of them now.

Gee I wonder if 'Gopher' is an 'underground' outfit?

I've said this a million times, email is a terrible medium for discussion issues with customer service.  CALL THEM.

As always, per Forum Rules and FAQs, we're not the place to air your frustrations with a company.  Take it up with them.  Check your Credit Card statement.  These things are easily resolved.

my order stalled last month.  Called and the owner answered.  He said 3-4 magazine articles had highlighted Gopher tackle in the last month so he was slammed with orders.  nice guy and he got my order out that week.

As far as the jigs go they are bittersweet.  i love the 1/32 oz b/c it's so light it glides thru the water.  but the hooks leave a lot to be desired.  i won't be able to trust them to any fish north of 3lbs so make sure you have light line, rod and plenty of drag.  sorry to say i won't be re-ordering unless the hooks are upgraded.  gonna try siebert outdoors next round and shave some lead off the 1/16oz for lighter glide

I kind of think its cool that Gopher Tackle is a one man show.  I feel like, when I'm using those little jigs, they are specially made for me and no other yahoos fishing around me probably has them.  I say, cool!  Yeah, its a little piece of led with a little hook on it.  But, its made in the U.S. and not sold in the big stores.  To me at least, that's special.

Yea, I am not usually sentimental, but his operation hits all my buttons.  I love the small, light wire hooks, but I wish he would offer a version of them with a wire-hook plastic keeper, I have never found the groove in getting the zman plastics to get on the dual barb keeper without a ton of fighting.  Once they are on and glued they hold great, but it is not at all an on the water task for me.

A relaxing winter evening project while watching your favorite boob-tube program... use a bodkin to ream a guide hole through the center of your plastic baits.  Much easier to thread the plastics on your jigs straight when in a hurry on the water.

Grab the side of worm and pull/stretch it 2" passed the jig head.  Do this on both sides of the worm and it sits perfectly flush.
