Alwayzspoon Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Bearing change. I have the drag side plate off. I have the reel handle and star drag off. How does the gear side plate come off? Quote

Flip the reel upside down. On the bottom of the frame (under the level wind assembly), find the black plastic spring loaded tab / button. Slide that to the left ( in the direction toward the center of the reel), this will release the palm side cover. A-Jay Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 The palm side plate rotates once the latch is released. 1 Quote

RichF Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 I think there is a secret small screw you're missing, maybe inside the area the spool is in. I have that blue bomber and I had a similar issue when I tried to clean it. Haven't used the thing in a llloooonnngg time, but I can check it out when I get home later this evening and relay the info back (if you haven't gotten it by now). Quote
