I usually use 30lb. Power pro spectra on my baitcasting reels but I just bought some 20lb. J-Braid X8 because it was pretty cheap and an 8 carrier braid, what I wasn't thinking at the time was whether or not it will dig in to my spool or not because of its small diameter, Do you guys think I'll have any problems? And how do you guys like X8? Thanks in advance!

I had it on my reel for a few months, took it off because I was getting way too many tip wraps. Im not a big fan of soft braid on baitcasters. I do love my J-Braid on my spinning reels though.

Line-burrowing is rarely a problem with braided line unless you're retrieving a lightweight lure

that spools the line loosely, followed by heavy pressure such as pumping your boat

over to a snagged stump.  In a case like that 20-lb braid might burrow,

but even under those circumstances, it's highly unlikely with 30-lb braid.

I recently spool my daiwa sv105 with 30lb j-braid. I've had a problem line dig in and cause backlash every now and then. Tip wrap is another problem but happen only when it windy and when I twisted the rod too fast.

I love the softness of J-braid got 20lb on all my spinning reel but thinking about switch the one from SV105 out.

Light braid will dig if you don't have a high speed level wind.  There are several reels that have a high speed level wind and you can adapt those parts to your reel to help out if you have a compatible model.   The tackle trap sells the conversions, lots of problems with light braid no matter the manufacturer on bait casters.

I use #20 j braid a lot and have zero issues with it. I use it in #10 on my spinning reel.

It's a great braid for the money. Don't worry about it.

I use a Tournament MB in 7.5:1 and it seems to lay the line on evenly but I might try that.

Having read a lot of good stuff about J-braid, I ordered two spools last night, one at 30lb and one at 8lb.  I am going to use the 30lb as backing/emergency main line on my two main casting reels and the 8lb to try on my UL spinning reels.
