dsqui Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 So I got a new vision 110 today... Afewweeks ago I purchased a few duo jerkbaits as well which I had a chance to use due to abnormally warm weather and the suspend at about a 45° angle I assumed it was due to the extremely cold water temps...so back to today I got home to put the New mega bass in my box and figured wth and did a tub test with the duo's so the water was more spawning temp nothing changed on the bait except now they are slowrisers instead of suspending... Now here's the kicker I fig with wasted some money So I grabbed one of the mega to see what it did to compare the two exact same thing 45° angle and the suspending bait floats3 out of 10 suspend. Now megabass is a premium bait so it should be a little more consistent then this. Has anyone else ever really che ked out there megabass and find the baits all differ in suspend or float they still catch fish so I'm not about to change a thing I'm just curious if we r paying premium prices and getting not so premium baits Quote
bigturtle Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 vision 110 has a fast floating, slow floating, and suspending options in their different models. I personally like the slow floating. If you dont think they are premium, dont buy it. They all catch fish just fine. Quote
dsqui Posted February 25, 2017 Author Posted February 25, 2017 I did not know that thanks for the insight learn something new every day. They sure do catch fish just threw me off when all of them acted different 1 Quote

So I went over to tacklewarehouse and can't seem to find an option for slow float fast float etc so how do u know which one it is when u buy a vision 110 is it based on the color or what...I'm confused. Do u mean u can get slow float fast float suspend by getting different versions of a 110 like the 110 Jr vs a 110...just real curious as I'm kinda new to megabass products and all of mine are regular i to vision 110 s with various suspend a float baits... Also I am not trying to bash megabass at all they do catch fish just seems weird u say there is an option that I can't seem to choose when purchasing and weather they are supposed to suspend vs float is a big deal as to where I will start throwing them because I've always been cautious about throwing them around trees do to I assumed they suspended so they wouldn't float up out of them also I've always leaned more towards a floater in very weedy areas later in spring through summer Quote

dsqui Posted February 25, 2017 Author Posted February 25, 2017 Ok still not seeing one that suspends or a fast float u showed a jdm and usdm nothing to back up that there are fast float slow float and suspending i to vision110 so back to my original question has anyone else ever noticed some of these baits suspend and some dont also I'm not comparing 110+1 to 110 Jr's or 110fx they are all regular vision 110 usdm Quote
bigturtle Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 Out of the 50-60 jerkbaits iv bought in my life, maybe 10-15 of them truly suspended perfectly out of the package. Some of the baits, like a few Lucky Craft pointer 100 and 78, were pretty pricey, but had a pretty fast float. This also happened to one of my Deps Balisong, but I honestly dont care. You may not see it this way, but floating jerkbaits is a plus for me. I prefer my jerkbaits to have a slow float right out of the package, so I can tune them to suspend, float or sink according to the water temp. If your baits suspends, or worse sinks, its hard to tune them to suspend in cold vs warm water. As far as vision 110s are concerned, I honestly havnt noticed anything inconsistent with mine, they all float very very slowly, same with my Duo 120SP. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted February 26, 2017 Super User Posted February 26, 2017 As a jerkbaits user & abuser myself, having baits that perform correctly is no doubt important. As long as a bait runs & tracks true It's usually good for me. A slow rise or fall is also usually OK. However perfectly level suspension may be an excellent way to catch fisherman, it may not be all that an important characteristic when it comes to drawing strikes. When I think about it, and I've seen it in person a few times, when a baitfish is making a last ditch effort to avoid being swallowed whole, they may perform any manner of maneuvers in order to facilitate survival. Level suspension is rarely one of them .. .. .. .. .. A-Jay 1 Quote
38 Super Fan Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 I'm with A-Jay, by and large, suspension is overrated. What I really do like about the Vision 110 is the 45 degree angle when they suspend. IDK why, but the jerkbaits I have that sit the most nose down also seem to catch fish the best. The action is also the best I've seen, those suckers come alive on 10 pound test, and they don't barrel roll like some other jerkbaits. I just wish I had more of them! Quote
Burntorangefan Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 I'd start worrying when your MB / Duos stop catching fish. A-Jay and 38 SF are right. 1 Quote
jr231 Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 Buy rapala or strike king jerkbaits.. and tweak em with suspendots/strips . I can have 5 different models for the cost of one of those.. and catch fish every season. Or I can just buy two , instead of the one megabass ... And poof. Baby has some shoes. 1 Quote
Deeare Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 dsqui. You need to click on "read more" to the left of the picture of the bait to see the specifics. That will show you a table that has length. Weight. Depth. And class which is suspending. Slow floating. 1 Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted February 26, 2017 Super User Posted February 26, 2017 if you are gonna go with a Megabass 110 and want it to suspend , get the FX Tour Premium . to me , they all catch em , been picking up some Duo jerkbaits along with their spy baits , just love their eradic action and i truely believe they are the better option .. LuckyHandsINC. Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 I couldn't find it in a brief search, but I feel I have read in their advertising something along the lines of "perfect nose down something blah blah blah" Point is I believe the nose down is intentional. I'm another one who loves megabass baits. Not only do they work great. Anyone who says they aren't buying them at least a little bit because they look cool is lying. I have no problem buying stuff because it looks cool. That's half the fun. 1 Quote
