If you are participating, post your time and if you did RX or scaled. If this takes off, we will keep it running for the full 5 weeks.

I am planning on doing scaled 17.1 tomorrow and RX on Monday!

@Pilot.

https://games.crossfit.com/workouts/open/2017/17.1

This is the first workout in a series of 5 that are 1 each week.  They compromise the Crossfit Open. Top athletes then move onto the Regionals and top athletes from regionals go to The Crossfit Games, where the winner is crowned the "Fittest On Earth!"

Crossfit will kick your behind.  I lost a substantial amount of weight.  Wife said I looked too skinny.  Hitting the gym again next week.  I'm more of a weights guy.  With the terrible weather we've been having the gym was the last thing on my mind.

Congrats Jeff! Didn't know you did Crossfit. I have a friend here that used to train and teach classes at the Omaha location. I am back to a 3 day a week workout regiment for about 4.5 hours total during the week after a year and a half of health issues. It is my goal to try to compete in a few years.

Make sure to kip on those pullups, represent Reebok strong on the podium, and munch down on those Clif Bars afterwards!!

Just kidding man, good luck on the tournaments. I can't be talking crap about Crossfit, since I don't have access to a gym right now, my workouts look a lot more like crossfit than regular bodybuilding.

I feel that the title "Fittest on Earth" is a little generous for the winner of these crossfit games.These crossfitters are extremely fit,but those that win the Full IronMan Triathlon(112 mile bike ride,2.4 mile swim, and 26.2 mile run) are more fit.Special Forces soldiers are another group of individuals that are in phenomenal shape and many of them do quite well in the IronMan races.With that said, crossfit workouts can be a good addition to ones workout plan if one makes sure to do these workouts safetly.

I do not disagree with you. That is why it was in parentheses. That is just the title given to the overall mens and women finisher in the Crossfit Games.
