Doesn't look like a bad load out. I'd throw in a chatterbait and a baby 1- crankbait if I were beating the banks.

I got  1 1/2 oz chatter bait and a few cranks

Looks good. You can get a tape measure so you can measure the length and girth of bass you catch if you want.

Yep! Another cheap but fun bait is the BPS Egg wakebait.

F-11 original Rapala to use as a top water. As bank anglers we have all the time in the world to coax bites and when it comes to finesse fishing on top that baits a champ!

On on the other hand you need your frogs when the banks you fish are all slop!

That scale looks like a old one I had. If so it has a tap made into it.

Not dissing the scale part but there are much better ones for the weight. Well more accurate and easier to read. I actually cant find the thread but its a small luggage scale off ebay for like $3 or so. I stole the hook off my old scale like the one the OP posted and put it on the new luggage scale and its perfect accurate, easy to read, and inexpensive.

Oh I did find the thread where I read about these.

I agree with the Mann's crank very productive and great bank cranks. The Bandit Footloose is a great options too. But a nice 7" or 8" worm texas rigged on a #3 or #4 worm hook 3/16oz up to 3/8 oz bullet weight is just a awesome bait for banks as they just come through stuff so well.

Fat ika. You need the fat ika. I don't think there is a soft plastic I could cast further weightless and be more fun to fish than the fat ika.. I don't know if bass pro carries them though. Last time I was in one they didn't have any.. the old man was like "nah but we have the kreature " lol. Not quite bro.

Let me preface this by mentioning that I'm 64 now and I have NO plans to bank fish any time soon.  All of these comments are based on my previous bank fishing experiences from when I was 20 something to 40 something.  IMO heavier jigs are unnecessary for bank fishing.  More trouble than they are worth.  I have a similar opinion on drop shot fishing from the bank, there may be certain situations where it is a viable option, but most of the time there are better options.  Not a big fan of those pre-tied drop shot rigs.

As mentioned previously I think some top water old school Rapala bait would be in order.  If you're fishing from the bank, something to fish slop might be in order, like a frog.

Back when I was a meat fishing bush hippie I had some very good days walking the bank and just throwing a spinner bait, going as parallel to the bank as I could.  These days a chatter bait would be just as good.  Maybe a buzz bait.

I think for bank fishing that there are other finesse jig heads that come through bank slop better than the Chompers heads you've chosen.  Brewer slider heads come to mind.

The scale seems unnecessary to me, unless you are really planning on catching big fish to have something to brag about, I'd call that scale extra weight.

If you're carrying a couple of rods or more, having some system to bungee them together when you're moving from place to place is a good idea.

I'm not sure that you need the TRD baits unless you're going full on NED RIG.  Those elaz-tech baits can be a pain to tx rig on jig heads.  If you're staying with BPS products I think the BPS Stick-O and the Stick-O with the paddle tail are excellent baits.   The BPS version of the trick worm isn't a bad bait.

There are a few items that I found necessary when I was bank fishing, foremost among them is a decent pair of hip waders.  These make it easy to get off the bank a little bit and make the whole paralleling the bank thing easier.   A decent pair of hiking boots and a water proof bag to keep them in is a good idea.  Back in the day I frequently had to walk in  half a mile or so (and walk back).  The water proof bag is to leave the boots in on the bank while you're fishing.   Don't try walking half a mile in hip waders - you'll get blisters all over your feet.

I'm aware that the conditions I faced bank fishing, i.e. ponds, small reservoirs, strip pits that I fished in central & western MO are different than what you might be facing in Washington.   Maybe all of these comments are wrong - I don't know.

Every bass fisherman should have a good scale along with a tape measure to measure the length and girth of a big bass. Never underestimate what you can catch from the bank, since people catch big bass from the bank all the time, and many of those bass are in the double digit category.

Definitely need some senkos, they are awesome Texas rigged and weightless. I never had much luck with crankbaits from the bank, way to many weeds to try to get through.

I agree with the senko, also a weedless wacky hook for the senko is a must have. I landed more fish that way than t rig.

I disagree somewhat though on Cranks, I've caught many on shallow cranks and squarebills, but it just depends on the water your fishing.  You might as well keep it in the backpack just in case.

I agree. I am not a fan of those pre-tied rigs, especially for bank fishing.

My tag end is much longer when bank fishing a drop shot. Since the line is going to be at an angle, as opposed to straight up and down when in a boat or off a dock, I want the bait to hover at the right distance from the bottom. A minimum of 12" from hook to sinker when I am bank fishing.

A cell phone or a GoPro to take pics/video is great too. Its really hard to share your experience in a way that compares to actually seeing some of it. :thumbsup3:

Its also a good idea to store the pictures you take both in photo albums and in memory chips for backup in case the pictures get lost.I have done this and I have albums filled with pictures of big bass I have caught throughout the years.:D

Jerkbaits.  For the money you can't beat the smith wick rough.   Silver with black back/orange bottom.  And same lure with a blue back.   And I 100% agree with chatterbaits and fat Ika and Drop shotting is tough from shore but try a Carolina rig.  The c rig is one of the best imo
