fisherrw Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 So I just made a tackle warehouse order and realized I forgot to order sinker pegs... I'm going to the lake tomorrow! What kind of substitute could I get by using? I was told you can use a toothpick but not entirely sure on that one. thx Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted February 23, 2017 Super User Posted February 23, 2017 Unless you are punching through heavy matted vegetation ~ you can & IMO should, skip the pegging. And it you fish a little slower, you might get your arm broke. Good Luck A-Jay 3 Quote

Super User J Francho Posted February 23, 2017 Super User Posted February 23, 2017 I used the rubber band trick posted above before there were t-stops available. It works. A toothpick works, too. Contrary to what some will say, it doesn't nick the line. Been pegging beads to 4# leaders for 10#+ steelhead for years. If there was an issue, it would show itself there before it would with bass. 1 Quote

Once positioned where you want it - tighten it down and trim the two bitter ends. Works like a stopper - if the hole in your weight is too large where the knot passes through the weight, you can either double the line or use a small bead between the knot and the weight. Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 23, 2017 Global Moderator Posted February 23, 2017 I use toothpicks as long as I'm using braid. They can damage other lines. 1 Quote
