I do pretty well on the Alabama River catching spots. However, the Coosa River kicks my butt every time! How are these guys bringing in 18lb bags of spots? On the Alabama you simply find a good laydown with current. That technique on the Coosa has not worked for me thus far.

We had the best success on the mouths of creeks.

I guess I'll have to give that a try. On Lay, Mitchell, and Jordan they always seem to elude me. lol

lay lake works well . use green pumpkin red finesse worm on bullet sinker or shaky head jig . find rocky points, work slow waxahatchie  creek is good. as it warms up, red eyed shad , rattling roage, and a pop r. work as well. spots seem to like the rock.  tight lines
