Super User webertime Posted February 22, 2017 Super User Posted February 22, 2017 How similar (if at all) is a Dobyns 705cb (non glass) and a St. Croix 70MHM (non glass)? I've got the St Croix and want to get a bit lighter cranking rod and just want to make sure I'm not duplicating rods. If you have fished both I'd love to hear your feedback. Thanks! Quote
Loomis13 Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Im not really sure but you may want to say which models you are comparing (avid, premier, etc.) just so people can chime in easier. And perhaps do the same with dobyns Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted February 22, 2017 Super User Posted February 22, 2017 I own both (Champion 705cb and Avid X 70MHM) and both are fairly similar actions/powers. Overall, I much prefer my Dobyns. 1 Quote

WRangler506 Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 Any opinions on this? These are the 2 Im looking at buying now as well. Quote
JLBBass Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 can't go wrong with either one. I use 2 Dobyns Fury 705CB's. I used to use Avid 70MHM's, and Dobyns Champion 705CB graphites also. I think the Fury is the best bang for the buck! Quote
