LEWITH Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Just bought a brand new Curado 200i and was just messing around with it have not spooled line on it or even put it on a rod. Took it out of the box and everything was fine after pushing the thumb at down and disengaging and reengaging did this maybe 25 times. Then twice in a row I would push the thumb bar down it would free spool like normal turn the handle the spool won't move but I could still reel although there was some tension on the handle nothing real tight but present, if I moved the spool forward with my finger it kind of made an engaging noise and it worked fine and the handle would then spin the spool normally. It did it two more times randomly again. Now I tightened down the drag all the way and I can't get it to replicate the issue. Do you guys think the drag was just loose and wasn't engaging properly?? Thank you! Quote
LEWITH Posted February 22, 2017 Author Posted February 22, 2017 Any ideas anyone or is it of no concern? Quote

Only thing I can think of (without even fully understanding what his issue is) is the drag being really loose. Shimano backs the drag off from the factory because having the drag under pressure for extended periods of time wears out the drag washer. 1 Quote

That is the same thought that crossed my head but the OP needs to clarify. Quote

LEWITH Posted February 22, 2017 Author Posted February 22, 2017 Got it figured out it was just the drag being too loose Quote

Haha yes... Long winters up here so all I can do right now is look at my fishing gear and dream about being on the lake. The Curado is amazing it's so smooth and it just feels like quality I'm pumped to add it to the reel Arsenal. Quote
