I struggle threading plastics so it might be why I have trouble getting bit on this set up. I didn't initially buy these for Keitech though. They might be just a little big, that's a 3.8 rigged up I would trim the head here. But this could be a nice setup Just now, DP82 said: I would trim the head here. BassThumb Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 I was using some Revenge Baits Hedz last season, but I'm not convinced that I caught more fish that I would have with ballheads painted with fingernail polish, which I also sometimes use. 1 Quote
GreenGhostMan Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 I like the ones by VMC. The double wire keeper works well and they look nice. 3 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted March 8, 2017 Super User Posted March 8, 2017 DOA also makes a short shank jig head , I recently purchased some . I like to use the Mister Twister Sassy Shads and the shorter the shank the more the bait vibrates . I have always bent and shortened standard crappie jig hooks to get the lures to vibrate much like a lipless crankbait . I'm hoping the DOA's will do the same thing . Quote
Allen Der Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 strike king squadron. they are very stout hooks so I throw them on a spinning reel with 20lb braid http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Strike_King_Squadron_Swimbait_Heads_3pk/descpage-SKSBH.html Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted March 9, 2017 Super User Posted March 9, 2017 The VMC Boxer Jighead & the VMC Flat Shad Jighead are both very good. Both models sport an effective double barb on the shank keeper as well as Premium1X strong needle point hooks, complete with a forged shank, hi-carbon steel construction and traditional round bend also deliver excellent hooking capabilities. mheichelbech Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Recommend some kind of glue, fishing glue or super glue to hold them on. Makes a big difference and helps prolong the usability of the bait. Doe anyone ever use any kind of stinger hook setup? Quote
