Anyone like red label to spool a whole spinning reel for stuff like drop shot? I ordered 8lb but am beginning to regret it after what I've been reading about it.

No sir. Red Label is on the stiff side, which means

coils and springs and bad words that follow.

It's a fine leader material, though. You're better off

with a more limp fluorocarbon, but yeah, they can

be more expensive... Tatsu is one.

I've had good luck with the 10 pound red label on my Pfluger president. Closing the bail by hand is paramount to keeping the loops at bay with that reel. I used it for a short time on my stradic fk and never had an issue but I recently re-spooled that reel with 10 pound power pro braid with a leader of the red label.

This has pretty much become my setup on all my outfits---Braid with a fluorocarbon leader--different tests for different outfits and needs but it sure has pretty much eliminated all loops and twists.  works well for me

Dont beat yourself up over it. Just respool it back on the original spool it came with, using a bolt, and a drill. Now you got a spool full of leader material :)

Works on casting gear but not great on spinning gear. Fwiw, I haven't found a flouro I like on spinning gear. Going to be trying their new finesse flouro soon and have high hopes for it. I'm in the braid on spinning gear camp.

I just took off my Red Label night before last and respooled spinning reel with braid then added back a 6 foot leader of the 8# Red Label.  Had really bad luck with a whole spool of it (looops galore), as mentioend above....

Have some 12# Sniper to try, wish I could swing the Tatsu.....

I actually tried fluorocarbon for the first time over the weekend and had a little trouble getting good distance without minor backlashes.  I was using 12 and 16lb sunline sniper on a Lews Tournament MB.  I fiddled with the brakes some, but was never able to get comfortable with it.  I used KVD line & lure the night before too.  I guess it just takes practice.  If I don't get better at it, I'm gonna have to go back to braid.
