So I got this at goodwill for 5$. But the thumb bar is broken. I can get it to work so I know the mechanism is ok.

Shimano often sends small hardware like that free of charge. Worst case I'd think $6 or so. If want me to fix it and go thru the whole thing it's $19.80 plus parts and shipping for members here.

Got it fixed by my local repair guy today.. cost me 25$ and he Did a full service on it... easily the best 30$ I've ever spent for a reel.
