My question is, will what I call average (2-2 1/2 lb.) largemouth take 6 in swimbaits like Huds? Thank you.

Even dinks can potentially swallow something like a hudd 68. Last fish I caught in the fall was on a hudd 68 and only weighed about 2lbs, not what I would consider a dink but it still had plenty of room left in it's mouth.

I've caught a 21" bass on a 4" senko and a 9" bass on a 12" zoom ol' monster... I'm absolute positive a 2 lber could choke a 6" swimbait.

First bass I caught on a 6" weedless Hudd barely measured 15" and I couldn't even see the bait anymore. I've caught shorts on a 7" Slammer and a Deps 175.

Definitely! Although, if those are the size that you are targeting, there may be more productive presentations. Try a hollow bodied swimbait on a belly weighted hook, or a spinnerbait, or even some cranks, or jerkbaits, depending on the weeds. I've never really considered Hudds - as a catagory of swimbaits - to be a high percentage bait. They'll certain interest the larger fish in the water's population though.

The age old question will bass eat certain size swim baits. Bass don't care how big the bait is they will eat it. I've caught 7 inch bass on 9 inch ms slammer. I'm a swim baiter and live in Arizona where it is very popular. Idk how many times I've seen ppl with 12 inch bass and a deps 250 hanging out of its mouth lol. That is a 10 inch 6.5 Oz bait.
