Hah, nice story, and I got a new spot to try from it;

" Bass anglers will fish at any time, in any kind of weather, on any kind of water. One of my better fish last year came in deepest, darkest Washington, D.C., 20 yards from where half a dozen police cars, blue lights turning the night into a weird kind of funhouse, were haphazardly parked during a major drug bust at Hain’s Point."

I work in DC all the time and would love to wait out rush hour chasing some bass.  The spot is even right off the highway I take to get home.

"Now that I’m my own boss and can go fishing whenever my wife says it’s okay"

Almost choked on my chewing gum when I read that 'oh so true' line. Of course mine now reads "Now that I'm retired........."

 For you young bucks, check out some of the stuff Patrick F. McManus wrote (Hope I spelled it correct).

That's a great story. I had a dream the other night that I was fishing with my beautiful bride and she caught a big one, so I convinced her to hold it so I could take her picture, when the fish flopped, she screamed and fell out of the boat. I woke myself up laughing after realizing she had on her pfd.
