I had a 5 year old PQ do the same thing and all they charged me was the price of shipping. It was repaired cleaned and lubed for $15. I was planning on buying 2 of the new PQ 2.0's but now i just might get 4 of the originals. Decisions decisions.... Thats a hundred mile drive . I bought it in a combo package I'll just replace the reel . Quote

But for the money you can't go wrong, but the Pro Q's in spinning are JUNK! To compare apples to apples money-wise - I think the BPQ ($99 list) is a better reel than the Lew's Speed Spool($99 list). I own both, they are both good reels for the money, but I like the BPQ a little better. Now above the Speed Spool of course, I'll take anything from Lew's. I thought the $50 BPQ and the 5/$10 Cordell Super Spots were the best values at their sale. Quote
Yudo1 Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 The discontinued PQ was one of my first casting reels. IMO you can't get a better reel for $50. Quote

jimf Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 To be fair my Speed Spool has much more wear and tear than the BPQ, so maybe I'm comparing an aged reel vs a relatively new reel too. I love Lew's, I'm definitely not going to talk someone out of their reels. Quote
