I went to BPS today to look around and pick up a few things. I also found the st Croix mojo 6'8" mxf spinning rod and I really, really liked it. Want something for plastics (drop shot around weeds and wood, shaky head, and tubes) and it seems to check all the boxes.

However, I didn't buy it because of the three they had in Stock all of them had either loose guides or the guide inserts had a rattle to them.

My question is whether this is common to the mojo line or if BPS staff may have mishandled them?

Any input or experience with this particular model would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks for your time.

Out of the 5-6 mojos that I have handled at work none of them do this. It could be that the Bass Pro employees mishandled, it also possible that St.Croix just made a couple mistakes and that Bass Pro unfortunately received them.

Thank you for all of your input. Maybe I will revisit BPS or a smaller local tackle shop to make the purchase.

I haven't had an issue like that with any of my St. Croix, It's quite possible they got mishandled during shipping or in the store, it wouldn't be surprising as many people handling these can be clueless as to how they should be handled. You could also call the factory and order from them.

No they should not do that.Just remember the Mojo's tend to be alittle stiff of a rod.So compare the tip action to another rod.The Mojo MH is like a H in another rod ect.they are good rods!

Ppl tend to handle the rods and play with them in store and later order them online. They get damaged from so many ppl mishandling them.
