So Tackle Warehouse just got these in stock. I see a few other distributors also have it. This reel isn't even listed on Daiwa's website. When exactly did this reel come out? I thought it was supposed to be March 2017.

Differences I can see at this moment are:

Tatula CT is lighter. Has T-Wing System. Has 2 more bearings. Is 30 more dollars.

Fuego CT has the same line capacity. Same frame from what I understand (which would mean exact same dimensions I would assume). Same available gear ratios. Same braking. Same drag.

So essentially the Fuego CT is for people who dislike the T-Wing system and want a more traditional reel in the 100 dollar class.

Anyone own one? Personally I love my Tatula CTs and don't see how anyone could possibly dislike the T-Wing System. There's literally nothing I would change about the Tatula CT except maybe add a clicker on the spool tension knob? I'm not exactly interested in getting a Fuego CT but it caught my attention when I saw it on TW.com this morning.

Oh you're right!

The gear ratios are actually different from each other! I was thinking of my Tatula CT in 8.1 left hand but I actually own the CT Type R in left hand 8.1.

Okay so that is a major difference there. The Fuego offers a left hand 8.1 for 99.99 whereas the Tatula you need to get the Type R for 8.1 which is a little step up in price. I mean I got my Type R on sale for 119.99 Black Friday but even now you can get them for 129.99 which is still only 30 dollars more.

And you can get the Tatula CT for 95 dollars as well. Just for the sake of comparison I kept the prices at MSRP in the original post.

I got my CT for 89 when they were on sale. But I would say that Fuego is probably a heck of a great reel for 100 bucks. I am sure there are some people that don't care for the TWS that is on some of the Daiwas and this gives those people a reel to purchase. I do like the black color of the fuego. Looks nicer than the Tat CT in my opinion as far as aesthetics.

I'm waiting for the Tatula SV CT. :) That thing is going to be awesome!

The original Fuego is similar to the original Sol, both are good light lure casting reels and Daiwa may be playing on name recognition.

$99 to start with is attractive price point!

I think Diawa is trying to move most of its lineup into the CT or compact body.  The Exceler was a very popular $99.00 reel, but it is based on the larger body and is not a T wing.  It is on sale for $49 at TW to clear them out.  I think it will be discontinued and replaced by this Fuego CT.  That would mean Diawa is offering the Fuego CT ( a 6 ball bearing reel) and the current Fuego ( a 12 ball bearing reel) as  two non T wing reels available under $130.  I think it is wrong to offer two different versions with basically the same name but one a 6 ball bearings and the other a 12 ball bearings. That may cause confusion. At least in the Tatulas we have the original bodies and the CTs, which are the compact bodies, but the number of ball bearings stay consistent,   Even though certain versions have more corrosion resistant bearings than others the total stays the same.

I'm behind on the latest gossip. Tatula SV CT???

I will own at minimum one of those when they drop. My current finesse reel is my first generation Tatula (the bigger framed one). It's the smoothest casting reel I own. Smoother than my Zillion, CT, and Type R models. I use it for wacky rigs, ned rigs, and light shaky heads.

A newer lighter SV spooled Tatula would be a great replacement for the finesse techniques I listed. Looking forward to that. Thanks for the insight.

BTW, the new regular Fuego baitcasting reel is the same as the regular Tatula w/o the TWS. So it makes sense that Daiwa would come out with a Fuego CT non TWS to match up platform size with the Tatula CT.

I'm not a fan of twing and not a fan of the frames.  It's one simple thing, it's placement of the brake dial...it rubs exactly the wrong way on my hand.

I was hoping the lack of twing would narrow the frame up front or recess the dial.  Alas

I think they are just calling it the Tatula SV TW . The info on the daiwa site is in Japanese so...

But I did find this info. I am a bit turned off by the 80mm handle though...

I just called it SV CT cause it's supposed to be compact.

The site also mentions it being " Its body size is as small as that of Zillion SV TW1016".

Very solid aluminum alloy body frame
Air brake system, with 20 level adjustable from outside
Machined extra strong duraluin spool
TWS T shaped level winder
UTD tournament drag system offers smooth drag
Swayed handle 80mm long
2 CRBB salt resistant ball bearings, 4 stainless steel ball bearings
High-grip I shaped knobs
Clicking drag
Gold accent for 6.3 gear, Red for 7.2, Purple for 8.1
Saltwater fine

Well if their intentions with this reel are a light finesse reel I'll be getting one. I'm stoked. 80mm handle doesn't bother me for light finesse fishing. I can almost be certain it will come in a 7.3 ratio but I'd be stoked if it came 8.1 as well. Maybe I can find that out on Tack Trap.

AWESOME. Just checked it out on Tackle Trap. 8.1 left hand available. Now I just wish there was a little more info available on it. Like... Weight. Concept of intended usage. etc. etc.

If I did end up getting it for finesse fishing, my 7.3 Tatula original can be used for something a little more reel appropriate lol. I'll be disappointed though if I get the Tat SV and it's not as smooth and feathery as my original Tat is. Man that fricken reel is smooth. Just wish it was lighter and smaller (Insert Tatula SV here).

EDIT - Just watched Project T 2017 Episode 5 "Tatula SV TW Debut!" video on DAIWA ProjectT channel and he said it's a 90mm handle.

its 7.1oz

I think the intended use is a wide range of weights but its marketed mostly for skipping.

I have a Tat Type R and a Tat CT and both of them are identical in smoothness. Both reeling and drag. I can't imagine they will stray from what is working.

It's good to know the US one will have a 90mm handle.

Ordering a Diawa will be like ordering a coffee drink at Starbucks.  " May I have a Diawa, Tatula, CT, SV, TWS, left hand, in the 8.1 ratio ?"  "Oh...and toss in a pair of BOCA bearings and a 90 MM carbon fiber handle for later."  "And let me pay for the guy ahead of me.  A Loomis  NRX ?   Never mind ":o

Not sure if you picked one up but I fished mine yesterday for first time.

For 75 dollars it is a killer reel.  Almost identical to tatula ct sans tws which makes no noticeable difference anyway.

Almost considering selling my tatula for a fuego!

Love my Tatula CT's, but one disadvantage of the TWS is it's horrible with leader knots if one has a leader long enough to get to the reel.

Just bought 2. Less refined, but has that Zillion workhorse/tank feel to it. Time will tell.
