frogflogger Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Parabolic action rods use the entire blank - "progressive taper" sila flex use to call it I think - a good parabolic rod casts easier and keeps fish buttoned better - I get frustrated by the "fast tip" actions which are by far the most available - they have their use of course but many situations and many anglers would benefit from rods with a more parabolic action. RFSims Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Don't know about MM Pro, but have a buddy with a medium moderate Ghost cranking rod. It is moderate, pretty close to an ABU Winch 7' medium. I would imagine the MM Pro is close to same. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Parabolic is an often mis used term. A parabolic bend would form a perfect U and be useless as a fishing rod (zero butt section). There's no such thing as more or less parabolic, it is or isn't. Excuse the rant. Lol. Rod actions extra fast, fast, moderate fast, moderate, slow (seldom if ever used) each bending progressively further into the length when initially loaded. 2 Quote
