didnt you just tell someone to buy a $200 combo and spend $600 on jigs? ;)

Spyman42 - Get the Met MGL. Less than $300 shipped:

Yes sir, guilty as charged! Only suggested that as I have over 1000 jigs. Oddly enough the Met MGL XG is my favorite jig reel except for swim jigs as the ratio is a bit fast for my liking.

We all have problems:D. Jigs are kind of my thing just like how some guys collect the pre rapala wiggle warts and some guys like their fancy swimbaits. Around here jigs year in and year out generally account for the biggest % of my "larger" fish. ;)

Met 13 is better than Met MG in my opinion.  Met MGL is better than both.  Owned all three.

I have to agree!  I have a lot of high end reels. My conclusion is the MGL IS THE BEST ALL AROUND REEL.

Also I feel its soulmate is the LOOmis GLX 843CBR.

The MGL is butter smooth. I use mine to throw squarebills and lipless cranks. I also have a Met 2013 that is a pretty darn good reel to.
