SlickFish Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 This is my first post here. I was hoping to get a little information or some help. I signed up for the KY Lake tourney in late March as a co angler. I know a lot of co anglers sign up for this tourney, but I figured if I signed up early I would almost be guaranteed a spot. Now I am not seeing that as a guarantee. For someone who no longer has the boater connections of fishing TBF and Nation, how does someone that has been away from tournaments for 6 years find a boater? Thanks and go easy on the new guy. Super User A-Jay Posted February 14, 2017 Super User Posted February 14, 2017 Unfortunately, I can't be of much assistance in securing a spot as a co-angler for that KY Lake tourney. However, Welcome to Bass Resource and Good Luck on the water. A-Jay 1 Quote
IndianaFinesse Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 I have the same problem, except I can't find a co-boater for a club I was thinking of joining. I really don't know how you would find someone, unless you already happened to know a guy willing to fish with you. 1 Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted February 14, 2017 Super User Posted February 14, 2017 Seems like they should be letting you know pretty soon if you're in or not. I fished the Ozark division of the BFL several years ago (98 thru 2006) and only sporadically did I have a guaranteed boater and I never had an issue getting in. Only once was I wait listed - and that was for the end of the year wild card tournament and then only for a couple of days a month or so prior to the tournament. So - I wouldn't worry about it, but I would call them up and bug them about it. 2 Quote
SlickFish Posted February 16, 2017 Author Posted February 16, 2017 Thanks for the welcome and the info. I appreciate it. Hopefully I get in. If not, I will head to Nashville for some fun. Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted February 20, 2017 Super User Posted February 20, 2017 Hang in there SlickFish, and welcome to Bass Resource and the Forums! Speaking from my own experiences, a lot of co-anglers get wait listed due to some pros not signing up right away because of work commitments, financial situations, and whether or not they are on fish. These things work themselves out as the tourney nears, right up until the final few minutes of registration where the TD is asking for contestants to call their friends because there are open back seats for co-anglers. Besides, the wait list gets shorter as anglers are picked and others withdraw. As Fishes in tress suggests if your aren't already, give 'em a call periodically to see where you stand. Hope you have a successful tourney or a great time in Nashville, JB Quote
