Hi guys, I'm new to the forum. I was wondering if you guys could recommend any specific hooks for mojo rigging. I plan to use a light wire hook because I will be using light tackle. I just can not seem to find much light wire worm hooks. I will be using zoom finesse worms (4 3/4 inch). Thanks

I like small round bends (1/0 or 2/0).  Owner Z bend hooks are my favorite, but I also use Bps brand

i know know some also like straight shank for finesse worms, so you may be able to find some 2/0 live bait style straight shanks in light wire (look in the crappie fishing section?) that may suit your needs

Welcome aboard!

I like a 1 or 1/0 EWG, or a 1 or 1/0 O'Shaughnessy

bend hook for mojo rigs. Prefer Gamakatsu myself.

The Gamakatsu #584 EWG hooks have worked well for me for years. I Texpose a 1/0 in a Z-Man Hula StickZ (a 4" bait) on 6 lb. fluorocarbon and the sharp point and thin wire penetrate smallie's jaws with no problem.

Welcome to the forums.

I've become a big fan of circle hooks for split-shotting, especially when using long leaders. I don't have to concern myself with deeply hooked fish, or missing fish as a result of a poor hook set.  EagleClaw offers an octopus circle hook in their Lazer Sharp line that I've been using for a few years now.  For Texas rigging, take your pick. No need to go bigger than a 2/0 and the Gamas in the 1/0 and 2/0 aren't light wire, but they're not overly beefy either.

+1.  I used to use a light wire EWG style hook (Owner J Light and others) but then this Owner Twistlock Light changed all of that.  It's so easy to rig and the CPS holds the bait - never have to worry about your plastic sliding down.  And I love that it comes in all sizes from 1/0 up to 6/0.
