I plan on hitting the fishing much harder this year since me and the fiance are all settled in the new place and I'm surrounded by lakes and short drive from St. Clair.  One thing I really want to do as well is pay much more attention to skin care than I have in the past.  I have some long sleeve "fishing" shirts that should do a pretty good job keeping the sun off me, as well as a neck gator.  I'm in the market though for a decent pair of gloves to keep the sun off my hands during some of the more brutal days.

I found these on Amazon and they seem decently reviewed.  I'm wondering if any of you have any experience with this pair or suggest any other brands?

I like the Buff products.  Check them out.  I'm glad you're being proactive with the sun protection - smart move!

those are the ones I use and I have no complaints about them, i can still feel the bites and they dont get in the way of anything I do!! good on you for looking out for your skin man. I started doing that after i fished with a gentlemen who has had to get skin cancer removed from hands and forehead. really put things into perspective.

I have never thought about hand protection. I wear a wide brim hat and sunscreen. I just never thought about hand protection

I'll be looking at gloves also.

I have them - you'll like them!

I've got a growing arsenal of UV clothing... sure beats the heck out of sunscreen.  If you don't have any burka-style headwear, get you one or two (Buff makes a good one).

I like the Glacier Glove brand.. Does the job at a modest price. Looks decent too.

I have used Simms and Columbia, liked both. Once you get to using them, you feel naked without them.

I've tried several different brands of gloves. Best ones I've owned were from orvis. Best gaiter I own is from simms.

Same ones I use. They wear out fairly quickly, but I just buy a new pair a couple times a year. When it comes down to it, what price do you want to put on your life? I hate sunscreen, which is why I used to get burnt often. Now it rarely happens because I just stay covered up.

I have some Columbia fingerless gloves and a pair of Phenix (rod company) branded ones.  I tend to use the Phenix ones more for aesthetic reasons more but they get the job done.

Thanks for all the great responses! As someone who almost never gets sunburn even though I hardly wear sun protection, I figured I'm not getting any younger and there's no reason not to be more proactive.  I saw some saltwater YouTuber have to get a chunk cut out of his back a few years ago and realized I don't want to ever have to go through that. I'll likely buy a pair of the ones I linked seeing as people here have used them and enjoy them.  Maybe check out a Buff branded or Columbia one too.  I'll have to swing by the Columbia outlet store I have nearby to see if they have any in stock.

I use a pair of cut and puncture resistant work gloves and cut out the finger and thumb on my right hand so I can work both casting and spinning gear. These are the ones I normally use: https://www.amazon.com/19-D622-Seamless-Dyneema-Polyurethane-Fingers/dp/B005NJNT9W

They serve a dual purpose for me. Number one is protection from the sun. Number two is that I don't accidentally stick myself with sharp hooks like I used to. They are inexpensive and work great.

I have the simms with open palms. I love them. Much better than sunscreen. No more greasy feeling or reapplying.

No need to buy another glove! They are thin and VERY cool to wear and if they get wet they dry in no time. Great glove, and I have had mine for 4 years and still on the same pair. Washable too.

I've been wearing GGs for the last 4 seasons and I like them alot. They do wear out fast though, so if you go this route, buy a couple of pair. And, do NOT get the ones with leather/sythetic palms! They are impossible to clean.....and you will need to clean them.

I have a  similar GG and it has served me very well for 4 seasons.  Finally time to get new ones, and they will be GG.  Good price, high quality.  I like the longer cuffs on the ones you are considering.

I use Simms - Solarflex Sun Gloves for all of my fishing. I have two pairs on my boat, one for me and another for my co-angler if they would like to use them. The Simms - Solarflex Sun Gloves are a little expensive.
