bmac31 Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Hey everybody, was going through some of my old tackle and came across this. It looks like it's foam with a thin latex type outer shell. Obviously it looks like a top water popper. Other then that I know nothing. Please help, I think it's a really cool lure. Thanks a bunch, you guys are the best! brian 1 Quote

Super User smalljaw67 Posted February 8, 2017 Super User Posted February 8, 2017 I used those!!!! It looks like the Burke Bass assassin, they worked like a jitterbug, not the same sound and a more subtle motion. They were around in the 80s. 4 Quote

I'm debating if I wanna give it a go or just add it to my wall hanger collection. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted February 8, 2017 Super User Posted February 8, 2017 Yep, that is a Burke. Had one a long time ago, lost it, never found another one to replace it. IMO it was just as good as a Jitterbug. "Put a Burke where they lurk". I believe that was their old advertising slogan. 3 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted February 8, 2017 Super User Posted February 8, 2017 Burke use to make that one in the flex plug series . They were constructed out of a soft foam . I have a couple of flex plugs but not that one . 1 Quote
Basstrash Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 I would venture to say that this might be a handmade bait. Not a bad replica of a classic Arbo..! Quote
bmac31 Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 Thanks for all the help, it's definitely a Burke flex-plug. Still not sure if I will use it or not. I found a cool vintage catalog from Burke Baits online. They had some really cool stuff. Not sure if I can post it here. brian 1 Quote
