KDW96 Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Hi- Im looking to get opinions, on what hooks your using. Ive check roboworms site, they recommend #2 rebarb hooks for the 4.5in straight tails. Are there others you recommend? I have the 4in and 6in straight tails. Just looking for opinions, and brands, model #s are a plus. Thank you in advance. Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted February 7, 2017 Super User Posted February 7, 2017 Going to try mustads 1/0 finesse edge grip pin this year. 2/0 should work for 6 inch version. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted February 7, 2017 Super User Posted February 7, 2017 For TX rigging roboworms (which I've not had a lot of success on, to be truthful), I've used Gamakatsu #1 EWG, #1/0, #2 O'Shaughnessy bend. 1 Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted February 7, 2017 Super User Posted February 7, 2017 I hate it when replies answer a different question than asked....but I'm going to anyway....:) I don't generally trig roboworms, but for 'similar' presentation, I do use Slider heads - usually Snagless Pro and Spiders Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 7, 2017 Super User Posted February 7, 2017 1/0 straight shank round bend 1 Quote
keltonz Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 I use a 2/0 Trokar Light Wire Finesse Worm Hook. Have had a ton of success on it. Quote
OCdockskipper Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 As has been suggested, the thin profile of the head of the 4.5" & 6" Roboworms doesn't hold up well to most Texas rig hooks. Years ago a friend showed me that he uses the decades old Mr. Twister Keeper hooks for them, the small pin on the front of the hook doesn't tear up the Roboworm head like traditional T-Rig hooks do. I had my doubts, until he landed an 8-0 with this setup as I sat in the back of his boat. Seeing was believing... I now use this hook when T-rigging most small diameter baits. It was the hook I was using when I caught an 8-4 that bumped up my PB last summer. I don't know of anyone else that uses these hooks and can only find them at BPS. Quote
reerok Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 I like Owner Twist Lock Light hooks with Roboworms. They are thin in profile which pairs will with the slim Robos and super sharp. Pair them with whatever size you prefer but I like 2/0 with the small worms and 4/0 with the larger ones. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Owner_Twistlock_Light_Hook/descpage-OTLL.html Quote
