Looking for some help from you guys. I'm 99% sure this crank is a Shad Rap. I don't think they make the color anymore and not sure what they called it, but if anyone knows what model/color the crank is that'd be helpful. Thanks guys!!

Hard to tell size from pic but I would guess SR7 or SR9. Color I believe is Parrot.

I can't imagine a shad rap holding up to a calico, that's nuts! It also looks like a filter was used on this photo which would make the color look like something it isn't.

That's a Risto Rap for sure. Works a lot like a bigger version of the Shad Rap.

Risto Rap, the Shad Rap has never been manufactured in Parrot color.

I don't think that is a shad rap, but someone can prove me wrong.  Looks like you can only get jointed shad raps in parrot these days.

Risto Rap...Shad Rap on steroids!

Here is a better picture, maybe, I happen to have a couple of Ristos lying in the not to be used pile.

As stated, it's a Risto Rap. They've been discontinued since around the late 90's/early 00's. Probably about the time the DT was released.

Are the risto raps any good?  Cause I've found a couple and never realized what they were until seeing cgolfs picture.  I also found a few rapala labeled down deep on the bill, and I don't think those are being manufactured any more.  They're cranks, not the down deep jerkbaits.  Were they actually called "down deep", or what were they called?

Yes, the Risto Raps were great lures. The Down Deeps are another discontinued Rapala bait. Below is an old Bassmaster article talking about David Fritts and his cranking (David helps design the Risto Rap and DT, along with a bunch of other crankbaits).

He prefers tight wiggling lures like the Rapala Down Deep, Risto Rap and Shad Rap most of the time because they offer the most "natural" action.

Thanks, know anything about fat raps? I just realized I found a couple of them to (the deep diving model, they look like 20 foot divers) Sounds like I'm set on deep crankbaits, without ever having to buy a single one.:)

Ristos were discontinued in 2000, by 2001 there were no longer being manufactured, I scored big time when in late October 2001 I visited St. Louis, Mo. and went to BPS in St.Charles, there were a couple of clereance bins, $1.99 each, dropped $100 bux on Ristos; interestingly, next year I went to Dallas to pick up a dog in June,  had to pay BPS Grapevine Mills a visit, to my surprise there was a clearance bin full of Ristos right next to the entrance door next to the boats, dropped another $50 more on them. Not a bad deal, at $1.99 I wasn't going to let them go.
