Wpcat6611 Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Just an idea I've been thinking about Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted February 6, 2017 Super User Posted February 6, 2017 I've tried live crawfish occasionally. The kind you get in bait shops. I have just as much luck on artificial presentations, which is what I use exclusively these days. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 6, 2017 Global Moderator Posted February 6, 2017 I've bought them from the bait store and used them, bass will eat them. Invasive species of crawdads have become a pretty big issue so buying them from bait stores is probably a thing of the past. Quote
Guest Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 I found a huge crawfish under a log that my lure was stuck on I had to jump in the river to get the lure and the crawfish. I put the craw fish on a hook and threw it in the calmest part of the river but I didn't catch anything I could feel the craw fish walking around but nothing would eat him so I unhooked him and threw him back in the river. I rather fish an artificial than a live bait for largemouths smallmouth and spottys. 1 Quote

Super User scaleface Posted February 6, 2017 Super User Posted February 6, 2017 Are you referring to frozen crawfish from a grocery store ? 1 Quote
mrmacwvu1 Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 I have found that it is better to catch you own they have different shades and sizes within just weeks that I have found while catching them Quote
Deeare Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Live Craws are great. I don't like using live bait but I'll let my less experienced friends use them and they catch fish. Makes it easier for me. Just got to make sure to keep them away from the weeds. Also. I'm fishing from a boat so we are able to move them. That's key as they will hide or bury themselves. Quote
FishOnLMB Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 On YouTube, Bamabass has a video of him using live crawfish and catching bass on them. Quote

tander Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 The only crawfish I buy at the store is the ones I eat, along with corn, potatoes. I get my bait crawfish from a ditch. Quote
