Justbass11 Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 For those who fish Lake Okeechobee, I plan to drive 4 1/2 hours to fish Lake Okeechobee's Monkey box tomorrow the 6th and early the 7th. How's the fishing down there lately??? Quote
Tyler Schmidt Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Water clarity was awesome in there on the 1st...but I suck at fishing so my catch was not impressive. I did see a ton of empty beds, likely pushed off from the last front. They probably have moved back on unless we are about to have another front. Haven't kept up with the weather predictions the last couple days Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted February 7, 2017 Super User Posted February 7, 2017 The bass are definitely spawning in South Florida now, but not every empty nest you will see is a bass nest. The tilapias are spawning at this moment( along with other exotic fish since we have been having warm weather) and the tilapia's nest look extremely similar to bass nest. Lots of decent reports coming from Lake Okeechobee for the past couple weeks and I expect to hear more reports since their will be lots of people catching big bedding bass. Quote
