Super User scaleface Posted December 23, 2016 Super User Posted December 23, 2016 It depends on "why" I'm not catching anything . Most of the time it will be a t-rigged plastic worm . What do you do when your go to lure is getting ignored ? The reason I picked a t-rig is because I can fish it in the hairiest places where bass lurk . But if that doesnt work I'm going to keep on changing . I remember one day in particular that I couldnt buy a strike and it was a beautiful day . The idea hit me that maybe the bass were rejecting my offerings because they were getting too good a look at them . I started burning a spinner-bait as fast as I could and finally caught a few . I remember exactly what lure that was to . It was a quarter ounce grey skirted Fleck Weed Wader with white Indiana Blades . I'll have to make a couple of those this winter 1 Quote

Super User the reel ess Posted December 23, 2016 Super User Posted December 23, 2016 Usually a Zoom Finesse worm in one of the natural colors. Last summer they were ignoring everything and I used a very light C-rig wth 1/8 oz bullet weight to get bites. Most of the bites were small fish. I also will use a T-rigged Trick Worm with some success almost any time of year. I intend to give shakey heads and dropshots another try this year. 1 Quote
RB 77 Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Go-to bait for me always has been and always will be a 6" T-Rigged plastic worm... 1 Quote
SFL BassHunter Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 4" Watermelon Red Sticko (Senko). T-Rigged. If they don't want it T-Rigged, I throw it wacky. 1 Quote

S. Sass Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 T Rigged Mann's jelly worm grape color for me. 1st artificial bait I ever used 40 years ago and still producing on the harshest days. The 8" and 12" version are always on my boat. I will say that the Mann's Baby 1- in baby bass color has become a new favorite to throw as well. Probably became my 3rd favorite behind a H&H 3/8oz white Colorado blade spinner bait. Which is my 2nd failsafe to keep a skunk at bay. 1 Quote

jr231 Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 . Try the search bar. But make sure you're searching the fishing tackle section or your results will be less than stellar. I found a recent one for you . 1 Quote

But if I just can't figure them out that day I could toss a spinnerbait for hours and hours on end and still have confidence it would eventually get me bit if I just kept hammering the right areas. Believe it or not, I have never even had a nibble on a spinnerbait, even though I've put a lot of time throwing them around. I think its because nearly every fish has gotten used to seeing them, as thats all that everyone throws in my area. My go to lures (in this order) would have to be: Black and Blue Chatterbait Texas Rigged black and blue pit boss Swimming a rage craw Green Pumpkin/Purp Flake Weightless Texposed Senko Small Inline Spinner 1 Quote

A little bit of wind helps. 1 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted February 5, 2017 Super User Posted February 5, 2017 Yamamoto senkos,Zoom super flukes, zoom trick worms. All t- rigged in watermelon colors, and june bug for low light fishing. Close runner up 3 are pit bosses, zoom baby brush hogs, and super speed craws.I have at least 10 more baits I carry with a variety of colors. I also have a hard bait box .I fool around with them and occasionally catch a few. 1 Quote
WI_Angler1989 Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 For me it varies with where I'm fishing. If I'm fishing the rivers here, I always fall back to a 2.5" Cabin Creek tube in green pumpkin blue, rigged on a Cadman's 1/4 oz Smallie Crawlin' jig. If I'm on any of the lakes I would fall back to 7" watermelon red Berkley Power worm, on a 3/0 hook woth 1/8 oz tungsten bullet weight. Slow and steady tends to win the race for me in tough situations. 1 Quote

Otherwise... A Texas rig plastic worm, probably a zoom u tail color appropriate to the water clarity. Laughed pretty hard at this. Definitely true though. Michigan's State Record Smallmouth was after all caught on a nightcrawler. Not like it was in the 1920s either, this happened this past fall. To answer the op's question I've always gotten a bite on a texas-rigged senko. Mostly dinks, but still fun. 1 Quote
