Nice smallie! They pull really hard when they're that size.

Thanks everyone!! It definitely fought harder than any LMB that I've caught. She stayed under until she was 6 feet from the bank and started head shaking like crazy...to be honest I was quite overwhelmed. I thought I had caught a bucket and it was just swaying left and right until I saw her.

On another note...if the Falcons let the Pats come back after that deficit I'm going to be very disappointed.

I just did some research and come to find out the lake record Smallie is 6.43lbs. To believe I was close to the record made me realize I'll probably never catch a Smallie of that size again.

Sure you will!  There's a big difference in a 4# and a 6# smallie.

Extrapolation using the Bassmaster lunker scale:

- your smallmouth is equivalent to a 7.1# LMB

- your lake's record smallie is equivalent to a 10.7# LMB

Sorry... had to math-out for a second.  Beautiful fish!  Go get another!

Not sure what jig that is, but I have been known to pair a baby boo jig with that color skirt and that color baby rage craw quite often
