Spring 2017 starts 20 March, depending where you are located it could be pre spawn, spawn or post spawn or a combination of all 3 or not. Where fish it should mid spawn made of mostly spawners with both pre spawn and post spawn bass. Bottom contact lures like jigs and soft plastics, bluegill swimbaits.

Depends a lot on how far into spring we're talking. It might be a suspending jerkbait early on, might be a buzzbait by the end of spring. I'm a sucker for a jerkbait bite though and I'll spend more time chasing it than I should some days.

This was Catt's response for Toledo Bend March 15-20

Expect pre-spawn - spawn

Fin & Feather located on Housen' Bayou which is centrally located on some of the best waters of the lake. Do some map study of Housen', Indian Mounds, & Six Mile.

I would target bank shallow out to 10-12'

Structure/cover: personal favorites creek channel coves & buck brush

Spinnerbaits, Rat-L-Traps, Texas Rigs, Jigs, Carolina Rigs, Crankbaits, pretty much any & everything! Finding the bass is paramount!

Spinnerbaits; white skirt double gold willowleaf

Lipless crankbaits; crawfish color
